Orientation Complete - TWH

Hi all,

Had my orientation today and am feeling much better about things. Those of you who told me that were totally correct. I have my first two appointments booked in May and my Nutrition class in June. So things are moving along well! 

Anyone else there today at TWH?

I was not there but I am going through TWH as well.  I see the surgeon on April 7.  My advice to you is to call every week to see if there have been cancellations you may be able to bump up the appointments.  I did that and it saved me 3 months so far.

Thank you. Great advice. When my doctor referred me he also told me that if you ask sometimes they can schedule several appointments on the same day. I will call them starting next week and see if I can get bumped up. ;-) 

My hope is to be done with surgery by next Christmas! 

So I called and asked for cancellations. My first three appointments were booked in May/June. Now I am going to two this week and the third March 13! 3 months faster!

I'm with Humber River so I can only speak to my experience there, but I would also suggest to follow up frequently and ask for any cancellations. I also made my own appointments when it came to meeting with the Internist and my final appointment with my surgeon following my approval at my 'trio' appointment. Also, timeline wise, I was referred May 2016 and my orientation was in July 2016 and my surgery is now less than 3 weeks away! So referral to surgery was 10 months. Best of luck!

I am going to do what you have suggested as well. Thinking I am going to need a sleep study as I have been waiting for the referral from my regular doctor for more than a year. Hoping that through the program I will be able to get in more quickly. 

My original referral was on Nov 10 so here is hoping for a speedy path to the bench ;-)
