Hi All,

I have Dr. Elnahas as my surgeon - out of Toronto Western. He is not listed as a sugeon on the bariatric team, but with a little research I see that he is a relatively new doctor.

Does anyone have any experience with him? I am a little stressed out that he is newer.

Thanks in Advance!

Hello,

Doug had to have another surgery after his by pass as he was getting lots of pain. I found Dr. Elnahas very knowledgeable and friendly. Doug had excessive scar tissue post op that was fixed in that surgery. Dr. Elnahas came out after surgery and explained everything to me...visited us up in the room and everything.

He may be on the newer side but I have no doubt he is well trained and I bet you are in awesome hands.

Take it easy!!

Turned out he doesn't even do the surgeries from what I understand he is part of the consult team and does some other surgeries, but they told me the other 4 main surgeons are the only ones that do them.

I also found out that that you are not guaranteed to be given any specific doctor, you more or less find out when you get there. I had Dr. Okrainic - he was awesome!

I also saw Dr. Elnahas at the hospital who spoke to me several times - he was very informative and helpful as well.

I have learned through this process, whoever you have at TWH you are definitely in very good hands!

Yes. At the surgeon appointment they give you a date. But prepare yourself to hear a date 5 months in the future. Cancellations happen though if you are available at a moments notice.
