Just feeling blah :(

I haven't posted in quite a while. Things have been just trudging alone. I'll be 3 yrs out April 15.....maintaining in a 10 lb zone, from 195-205......which I've come to terms with, becuase no matter what I try it won't go under that. Still better than my pre-surgery weight of 334 ;)

But my problem is for the last week, I have zero energy and just "feel" off...crappy...unwell. I take my vitamins, including iron....I've been eating well, low-carb and getting enough protien. My last blood work was good other than low iron, hence why I take extra. I feel weak, and so tired which is totally not the norm with me. Has anyone else had this? I'm going to go see my family physician later, but when it comes to my surgery and situations surrounding it he's clueless. Will call TWH later and see about getting in for an appointment as well. This feeling of "blah" sucks :(

I have been feeling that way since I came back from Cuba the night the clocks changed. Feeling tired , slightly dizzy, not sleeping great....just OFF!!!

I've been trying to tell myself it's the time change and the lack of stable weather. We have been having a lot of pressure changes and of course the lack of sunshine !!!! There have also been strange flu's reported in my area. Who knows?????

Hope we both feel better soon. Glad you are taking care of yourself. You are right.....feeling crappy stinks!!!

Heading to Cuba myself on April 10.....want to feel better before that hopefully!! And last year when I went I felt crappy for weeks afterwards.....more from the crappy food and excess alcohol than anything else I think. Trying to get through to the Dr now. Sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. Also hate calling in sick.....especially with vacation days coming up soon :(

hope you feel better!!

WOW Congratulations on the incredible weight loss!

I am pretty sure that you are feeling BLAH because it has been a long, cold and miserable winter.

Your up coming vacation will lift your spirits and the warmth and sunshine will give you a better sense of well being!

Your low iron might be the culprit.

I am not sure where your iron levels are.

Iron deficiency symptoms may include: Extreme fatigue. Weakness. Pale skin. Chest pain, fast heartbeat or shortness of breath. Headache, dizziness or lightheadedness.

Last but not least. We all want to get to that ideal weight and sometimes it doesn't happen as quickly as we would like.

Embrace the success that you have achieved so far.

You are going to love getting away,

Enjoy

Sandra

Thanks. I know it's a big loss....I'm happy with that.....and iron is probably the culprit. Last time it was tested it was a 7....which is really low. I'm going to get bloodwork done in the am.

Could be the Iron, but also the low carbs. My last appt at the 6 week post op class, they were adamanet that we make sure we get.enougj good carbs. Between 90 - 130 g daily. Carbs convert to energy in our bodies.

Hey Wayne

Beware what the "experts" tell you about carbs. The vets around here (myself included) suggest 40-50max if you want optimum loss in that first year.

depends on the plan. many people follow a dr. weiner type plan. my dietician wants me over 100 grams. I'm usually between 80-90 (50-60 net since i eat a high fiber diet). I eat pretty low fat though compared to the keto bariatric folks. i feel sick on low, low carb. my carbs come from berries and veggies and steel cut oats and my weight loss sped up when i added them back in and upped my carbs.

I would never recommend someone follow a diet that makes them sick.

I do eat carbs, just the good ones. I don't eat bread, rice, pasta, sugar.....I do eat lots of beggies, some fruits. Not because of the weight loss aspect, but mostly my body can't handle them anymore. They make me sleepy and tired afterwards....so I avoid them. My diet consists of mostly lean meats, fish, nuts, dairy and veggies. ;)

works for me!
