Post-op day 5

So, just like Opti Day 5, post-op Day 5 brings a breakthrough!

Wow, I cannot believe how much better I feel today.

I flew the coop, and grocery shopped, bought a new dryer, and am feeling pretty good. I had my bags put in my car and family at the other end to put stuff away.

I found Skye high protein yogurt and tasty fat free condensed soups and little bowls to store my food in that are heatable, freezable and perfect for when I go back to work. (Good old fashioned Pyrex)

I have stoppped the pain medication, passed gas, passed poop, but still have a lot of belching.

I got my apps in line including a water app named Waterlogged, and a Baritastic app with Vitamins reminders installed. I am still working on the food, I find it hard to differentiate between breakfast, snack, lunch, snack and dinner and invariably am drinking two protein shakes and fortified jello and pudding all day long.

I am itchy at the incision sites which I am taking as a positive sign of healing.

Today WLS is good! I've got this!

You're doing great. Itchy is a good sign. Hot, swollen and painful is not good for incisions.

yeah - sounds like you are on the mend. Good you are allowed to have protein drinks - I wasn't allowed to have those until after 4 weeks.

I also felt great on day 5...then totally over did it and ended up sleeping all through day 6!

But by day 7 I was well rested and feeling...Normal! Which is so remarkable considering our insides have been rearranged.

I took the steri strips off on day 6 as well as one of them was causing a reaction. That actually helped the itch quite a bit and also the incisions look like they are healing better now too.

All the best....we are all in this together!

As the creator of Waterlogged, I'm super happy to see you using it for the reason I actually made it in the first place: to help someone drink enough water post-WLS. Congrats! Keep on it! You WILL feel amazing, and it's totally worth it all!!
