Good morning :)

Off to do a little grocery shopping in the states today. I will not buy treats. I will not buy treats!! Lol.

Then tonight I'm finalizing my marking and posting grades for the term. I love the end of April when all the classes wrap up. I'm not really working for the summer term so I might have too much free time on my hands.

Breakfast - pepperette, oatmeal (on the road)

Lunch - TBD

Snack - cheese stick

Dinner - beef, veg

Snack - pudding

All water and vits.

Those American treats call to me, lol. I will now buy only the Light and Fit yogurt, flavoured almonds, purse size coffee enhancer, and SF flavoured CoffeeMate. I wish I was going with you.

You should have come with me!! My grandma and I had a good visit :) she even took me to a pharmacy that randomly had bariatric vitamins and I found chewable calcium citrate in caramel flavour. They might be able to order chocolate ones for me too.

The border guy asked me how much I spent. I told him. He said "on groceries??!!??" Yup!! "No purses, no makeup, no clothes???" Nope!! Lol

Good morning,

Well I tried cottage cheese at lunch yesterday - no problem. It was just so busy that I started at 1 p.m. and didn't finish until 2:40 (customer after customer). I set my phone alarm to 30 minutes and moved my water and decaf. on to another desk so I wouldn't automatically drink. It will be something to get used to because I'm used to drinking non-stop. I changed dinner to 1/2 fillet of Tilapia with chopped stewed tomatoes (1/2 cup). It took me 2 hours to eat - partly because I filled up quickly and I think I'm a little afraid of what my pouch might do with the introduction of new non-liquid foods. My challenge will be to eat all my food. Yesterday ended up 340 cal. and 50 gr. protein.

Today:

B: Protein shake

L: 1/2 1% cottage cheese

D: Ricotta Bake

S: 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce and 1/4 Skyr yogurt

All vitamins, 80 oz. water - 566 calories, 72 grams of protein

Hi Linda,

I think 2 hours to eat a meal would be considered grazing. If it take you that long to eat a meal how are you getting your water in? I would stick to your protein at meal times no veg this early out it just takes up precious space. Just my opinion though. I'm just now eating 1 cup of most foods, I'm not sure the total volume of your tilapia and 1/2 cup stewed tomatoes together?

Today's menu looks great!

I a a precise your comments. 1/2 cup combined. It was too much and I should have just s ripped halfway through. My fear of trying new foods also had me going far too slow. I'll be better today and try not to eat with interruptions.

Thank you.

Linda, I'm with Ginny on this. Stop eating when you are full or reach 1/4 to 1/2 cup total. Your new pouch is still healing and you want to maintain your restriction. I don't think I broke 350 calories for the day in my first month. Does your program allow 3 meals and 3 snacks?

I think the problem was that I had so many interruptions during the day when I was trying to have lunch that I didn't get any snacks in. By the time I had dinner, I was trying to get the 1/2 cup of fish and tomatoes in and I was doing so at a slow pace. I should have stopped at 1/4 cup but was worried about getting enough protein and calories in. When you are on strictly liquids, it isn't difficult. I appreciate your comments about lower calories and will simply stop when I'm full.

I've been on the Guelph program and am switching to TWH for this stage. I will get organized on the weekend. I ate my 1/2 cup of cottage cheese in about 20 minutes and believe the Ricotta Bake will also go down much easier. I should be on 3 meals and 3 snacks although just 2 snacks (morning and afternoon) works better for me because I'm not wanting anymore after dinner. I'm easily getting in all of my fluids - most during the day and not after dinner other than a cup of tea.

I will be aware of the time limits so that it doesn't translate into grazing. Many thanks for your help. Each stage offers its own rewards and challenges.
