Good morning,

What a beautiful day! High of 24 today. Can't beat that and if I hear one complaint that it is too hot ... Pow! Right in the kisser!

I had to babysit my grandson last night, got home late, quickly changed then quickly ate leftover chicken stirfry with vegetables. Much too quickly. I was in discomfort for about half an hour. A good reminder to eat slowly, chew well and don't rush a meal - regardless of where you need to be.

B - protein shake

L - President's Choice Shrimp burger - a bit bland, but high in protein and low in calories with tbsp. of light mayo and some hot sauce

S - Two Ryvita crackers and a Babybel (what is your opinion of limited low calorie grains during the first year. I don't do bread, rice or potatoes.

D - 1/2 cup homemade chili

S - Skyr and applesauce

Exercise: 3 to 4 km. walk - see what I have in the gas tank and planting of some pots I didn't get done.

Calories: 622, Protein: 76, Carbs: 51. Last two days of antibiotics.

Enjoy your day.

I personally avoided all grains for the first 6 months at least. Still don't eat too many now. Maybe a couple pieces of melba toast with my tuna but its rare.

Thanks Ginny. Out they go. Can't do carrots or celery yet, but I can do peppers so I will use those (and others that I try) as my source of fibre with my protein.

Thanks Linda M. and Ginnny for this discussion. It has really helped me pre-op to read what everyone is eating daily. I am fully aware that potatoes, grains, bread and pasta are soon to be a thing of the past for me. I realize that if I want success, and given this amazing once in a lifetime opportunity, that these things will have to go. Even now, I have decided to have these things less frequently then I use to. (even though today I am having both potatoes and pasta). I have not had pasta in about 3 weeks, which is huge for me being Italian. But, I know it is just not worth it, compared to the life that I want to lead. When I first looked at the forum discussions a year ago, I was struck by how little everyone ate and how much protein was involved. I thought that it was nothing more than the "Atkins Diet" and it frankly turned me off of WLS. Having researched more, and keeping an open mind, I am now convinced the WLS is for me and I am very excited to make these lifestyle changes for my health and quality of life moving forward. Thanks to all for all of your input.

I'm four years out now and will have small quantities of bread, pasta and rice. I eat my protein first as much as I can. If I have spaghetti I have little pasta and lots of meat sauce with meatballs. You just need to eat in moderation but wait at least 18 months if you can.

Good morning, I'm a little late to the party today. I actually had some work to do when I got here!!

I've been to the gym this morning and focused more on the weights than cardio. Will get out on this beauty of a day for a walk at lunch time, and likely tonight with the doggies. I hit over 20,000 steps yesterday, yowsers!!

Still on AMAW here, and I just got an email that "there is a boston cream here" . Who does that to a girl! Good thing is its across the hall so I'll just stay at my des****il somebody else eats it.

B- Italian sausage

S - 4 oz beef meatballs

L - 3.75 oz grilled chicken

S - deli turkey with mustard

D - sloppy joe meat

Totals Cal 594, carbs 2, protein 86

May have to throw a snack in tonight, but the meat really fills me up and keeps me that way!!

Over 100 lbs lost! and 13 lbs below goal weight!
