Does Dr. Glazer order a sleep test for everyone?

hello my HRRH mates, does Dr. Glazer insist on a sleep test for everyone? Just trying to figure out if I should get one done on my own with my family doctor so that there is no delay. I see Dr. Glazer at the end of August. Thanks!

I'm not sure about everyone else, but I was told I needed one - which was a real surprise to me.

When I saw him he didn't send me for one... He will ask u bunch of questions then check ur throat..

Hi there ready-4-new-start. Thank you for your reply. How does he check your throat? Endoscopy? Measuring the size of the neck? Just a physical exam? And what types of questions does he ask? Sorry for asking all of these questions. I'm just a bit nervous.

He just ask me to open my mouth had a look inside.. he also does ecg and blood pressure before u see him. I did ask my family dr for referral for sleep test my family dr told me I didnt need one she didn't think I had sleep apnea told me to wait and see what Dr Glazer says.. I wouldn't hurt to talk to ur family dr if ur there anytime soon

He sent me. He does ask a series of questions. If you feel you need one you can tell him as well. I was worried about anesthesia and sleep apnea. So he sent me.

The throat/mouth exam is just a visual to see if you can be intubated properly and to check your teeth to see if you have crowns etc.

He goes through a physical history and medication profile.

I was not sent for a sleep study nor did I have a history of sleep apnea. If there is any question that you may suffer from sleep apnea then I would ask your GP to send you now so it won't delay the process
