I don't know; I think you'd have to check the sugar content first, but as long as it's under your center's requirements should be OK once in awhile to clear things up. I ate some baby prunes twice so far, after checking my fitness pal to see how many would be safe to eat without being too high is sugar, and it really helped. I just use restoralax in my water now if necessary.

I heard u have to be careful with benifiber, they say I have to drink a lot more water because benifiber supposedly expands which may cause more problems! They restoralax or milk of magnesia is better! As to the prune juice as long as the sugar is under 5grams u should be good!

I was told that after the full fluid stage to not drink juice. For the fluid stage, it has to be watered down. As long as it is no sugar added and watered down the. I would think it would be fine but the dietician are great and will take a call. Better safe than sorry. I take a capful of restoralax every day still and I am 4 months post op.

Dr in the emergency room told me never to take benefiber after surgery, especially right after because we do not drink enough fluids and first and it can have a even worse effect and can cause your stools to turn to cement. He recommended 2 doses of restoralax daily in my water and i also take a daily high strain probiotic 50 billion - 100 billion strain. I open the capsule into my protein shake and i go daily .. i went threw 11 pure months of pure constipation after my surgery this is the only thing that works for me.
