Hello from Ottawa!
I've been hiding in the shadows for a while just reading and it's finally time... I need some buddies!
I meet with my surgeon, Dr. Amy Neville, tomorrow afternoon at The Ottawa Hospital (hence why I'm still awake... too excited). Hoping (but know it's unlikely) to find out my surgery date tomorrow.
Anyone else out there at a similar step in the process? Or anyone out there in the area having gone through the process recently? Orrrr anyone just want a WLS buddy?? Would love to connect.

Welcome. I'm glad you're out of the shadows. I joined the site about a year ago when I was first starting the process. Participating in discussions, asking questions, sharing experiences and making friends are the benefits I found as well as advice and mentorship.
Good luck today. You go from patient to impatient pretty quick as you get closer to your surgery date. I'm only 4 months out and know it was the best health decision I have ever made.
Keep posting, reading and updating. Support, encouragement and information is here for us all.

Orientation: June 29th, 2016, Surgery March 22, 2017. Pre-surgery: 16 lbs, (Size 2x, 18/20), M1: 19 lbs. (Size 1x, 16/18), M2: 13 lbs. (Size 16, XL) M3: 10 lbs. (Size 14/16, large). M4: 6 lbs. (Size 14, large/medium). M5: 10 lbs. (Size 14, solid medium - lol), M6: 9 lbs. (Size 12, medium). M7: 8 lbs. (Size 10/12 and small/medium). M8: 7 lbs. (Size 10 and small/medium). M9: 2 lbs. (Size 8/10 - small/medium). Lost 100 lbs by Month 9! M10: 5 lbs. M11: 4 lbs. One year: 6 lbs. Total 111 lbs. lost!

Welcome and so glad you are posting. Lots of great advice and wonderful people who have been there and are going through same process as you. Support is so helpful and really makes a difference. You will have to join the coffee group next time we meet up in Ottawa - I believe the next date is Monday August 14th at Second Cup at 1715 Merivale. Mahalo (Sandra) who so kindly organizes the coffee meet up usually posts a few times around our next get together. I hope you can make it out to join us and good luck meeting up with the surgeon. I'm sure you will get a date soon!!
