HI! - it's me MJ! I am just rolling along here. Feeling great! Day 3 of no pain meds, day 5 of the liquid diet (God help me!) I decided not to use my medicine cups yesterday. I feel I have graduated. I am still timing 5 minutes now between "bites" - I'm trying to decide how I survived 15 minutes before. Am I rushing things? Also I have terrible breath and I guess dry mouth. Can we chew sugar-free gum? I will post more about my day in my blog!! Have a better day everyone!

TOGETHER we can be BETTER

Best, MJ

Sounds like you are doing great! As soon as I came home I just started to sip out of a water bottle. I didn't even time it, I just listened to my body and would sip sip sip all day. I had to make a conscience effort when it came to other liquids though.

I think Gum is a no go. But I am sure you will get better advice by others.

Keep it up!!

Good on you MJ.

Keep brushing your teeth and drinking water for the dry mouth and breath. I do sometimes suck on a Tic Tac, but I didn't do so right after surgery. Gum is a no go as I believe it can contribute to more air and gas in your system. I'm glad you're doing so well.

Great news, MJ! Wonderful!

I remember the dry mouth and bad breath; I think it could be ketosis from the high protein, very low carb diet. I brush my teeth so often I have no idea why they're not pure white, lol. I also used biotene mouth spray before bed because I hated waking up with my mouth so dry.
