Just wondering how long it is taking for people getting from meeting the surgeon to a surgery date?

Just wanted an idea on the current wait time.
Referral October 2015, TWH Orientation December 7 2015, Nurse & Social Worker Feb 25 2016, Nutrition Class Apr 11 2016, Psychiatrist Apr 13 2016, Surgery Feb 14 2017, Surgery Postponed Jan 29 2017, Psychiatrist Oct 5 2017, Nurse Oct 25 2017, Meet the Surgeon Feb 2 2018, Revision Surgery Date April 10 2018

Concerning Guelph, I met Surgeon May 11 was told after examination and review of stats that I needed only 2 weeks of Opti some need up to 4 weeks I got a date of June 13 which was a month later. It's different at other Centre's some are significantly longer.

Right now TWH is going through a backlog... too many surgeries... and they are close to the amount they can do for the year... they have been sending people to guelph right now... but everything will clear through hopefully by new year...
Last year... same thing happened... only happened alot later... nov/dec... and they didn't start doing surgeries for people waiting for the backlog until april/may ish... I had my surgeon appt in Feb 2017...and didn't have my surgery until June 2017

Once you meet the surgeon, if your schedule is flexible, you can ask to be put on the cancellation list. Be sure to talk to Sharon, the nurse who head's up the surgical team. Other nurses will not know the procedure. I was told by another nurse there was no cancellation list because of the backlog. I politely asked to speak with Sharon, who was so lovely and amazing, and not only put me on the cancellation list, but called me the following week with a cancellation. :)
