Hi Everyone,

I was just referred by my Doctor today. I am in Ottawa. I was curious from ottawa area people what your time lines for things have been like? Not going to lie- super nervous for many reasons- but looking forward for everything. What is the usual process? does everyone do the optifast? would love an information overload!

I was reffered and The Civic transferred me to the BMI clinic (also in Ottawa). If you end up with The Ottawa Hospital, it's about a year. If you end up with The BMI Clinic, it's 5-8 months.

Referral: June 2017

Welcome to the forum TBeat! Lots of great information and people here to offer support and friendship. Hopefully someone can help you with your timeline question. There's an Ottawa support group that meets once a month at Second Cup on Merivale (next to Metro) I believe our next meeting is the 16th Oct - you should come and join up. Its a wonderful support system and great way to meet people going through same experience as you.

I was at the Civic and from referral to surgery was 7 months. As mentioned above there is a group of members who meet IRL and are a WEALTH of information and support. Tuktu is right the next meeting is October 16th at 6:30. Hope to see you there!!!
