Screw-up

I have my pre-op screening appointment at Humber tomorrow and my doctor did not fax over the physician's form, which states my current medical situation with vitals and history listed.

I was supposed to have her fax it and then bring the original back myself. I called on Thursday and their office was unexpectedly closed until today.

I spoke with their staff this morning and they said she's not in until Wednesday and they can't get ahold of her. They haven't even faxed it in yet.

I am so upset right now. Is Humber going to cancel my surgery because of this? It's in 15 days.

Hey Caff!

Sorry to hear about the distressing mix up!!! I can only hope that the system will take everything into account and not delay you for this reason.

Glad you posted..... Talk is the best cure for being upset!

Thanks so much for your kind words. I'm calmer this morning, trying to stay positive!

Good luck today Caff! No doubt you're not the first one whose doc has missed sending paperwork. Stay positive!! I'm sure it will all work out. ((Hugs)) I totally get the stress of worrying it will be cancelled.

Let us know how it goes!!

I'm sorry this happened; hopefully your center will understand these things happen, and Wednesday is long before your surgery date so hopefully it will all work out.

I had to go through Sudbury, who fax things to my doctor, who sends me for blood work, etc, then has to fax the results back, and EVERY time, both parties tell me the other party didn't do their part...every single time. So my doctor always has me calling Sudbury to have them refax orders for blood work, etc., and Sudbury always has me calling my doctor to fax the results back. I'll be glad when I'm far enough out that I won't need follow ups any more, lol.

Obviously I can't speak to Guelph but I would call and explain the situation. You are far enough out that you should be able to get another pre-op date if it is needed. They may be able to run the tests at the pre-op

I made it through!

My doctor came through an hour before and faxed it. They didn't seem too concerned with the original.

This whole ordeal made me realize just how emotionally invested I am in this journey, wow!
