**Round two!** Big Day

I am almost afraid to post this. I feel like as soon as I hit enter the phone will ring. My husband says just don't answer it. Hee hee.

Tomorrow is my big day. It is my second big day. We all have this day. I still do not know if I will have a RNY or a Sleeve. My own choice is a RNY but if my scar tissues from pas surgeries when I had ovarian cancer might make a RNY to hard. If it is so difficult I will have a sleeve. I will be over joy for either but I am rooting for the RNY. I have studied the pros and cons of both and I just feel a RNY is best for me at this point in my life.

I leave the house bright(dark) and early at 4am for the two hour drive to Hamilton, St Joes. Register at 6am and surgery at 8am first of the day.

I have been on Opti for almost 5 weeks. CRAZY. I have lost a total of 32 pounds so far. I can feel the difference in underwear and some pants that I used to have to TUG on now slide on. I wonder though because I lost 32 pounds before surgery will I still lose around 20 the first month after surgery? Yes I know every one is different but that seems to be the average.

I have hardly told any one in my life about my WLS. Only 6 people know including my husband, daughter, mother and father.

Thank you to everyone and their support. Keep posting..it helps us all learn.

Penny.

I'm so excited for you, Penny! This is truly the start of a new life for you!

Congrats on the 32 Lb loss; that's great!

Everyone loses different amounts in the first month. I was lucky; I lost 23 Lbs in 3 weeks with Opti, and another 23 Lbs exactly in my first month post op. No matter what you lose, it is an amazing journey.

I didn't tell many people about my surgery until after I had it; then I spilled the beans and told everyone via facebook so nobody could gossip behind my back, lol. I didn't care who knew about it post op; I just didn't want to listen to people try to talk me out of surgery before I had it. Everyone was super supportive.

Wishing you all the best for an easy, quick recovery. See you on the loser's bench!

I Too had two rounds of opti and pre surgery. i cancelled my own surgery (but i had no choice my dad passed) but i know the feeling. it is pins and needles waiting for that early morning appointment.

i was worried they would cancel on me right up until i was hooked up to the i.v.

my partner was with me through my anxiety.

you will do great. it is a breeze.

Good luck

I may not be there yet, but I'm closer than I was yesterday!

Yahoo Penny! You've come this far with such a great attitude and such great results already. No doubt the rest of your journey will be the same. :)

There is no way to predict what your loss will be in the first month... but the weight will come off. Just like your journey has had some stops and starts, so will your weight loss. Be patient with yourself... all throughout your journey. It will come off as long as you stay the course.

Big hugs for tomorrow and let us know as soon as you're up to it how you're feeling. :)

Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. Choose happy.
