3 months since surgery

Hi Everyone,

I know that I have been posting a lot lately, but I just can't seem to contain my happiness about my weight loss and I need to share! Although I share with my family, I know that they are happy for me, but they just don't understand the same way that I know most of you do. So...thank you so much for listening.

I can't believe it's been 3 months since I've had my surgery. I had quite the struggle to even get to surgery and I remember many dark periods when I was sure it was never going to happen. So, for all of you that are "waiting", hold on and have faith. Your time will come and when it does it will change your life!! I am so excited for all of you.

I have lost 13 pounds this month and 53 altogether. I am 4 pounds away from not being "obese" anymore. This is exciting....although I still have issue with the way that the clothing today is being sized because even though I am "obese" I am now fitting into "medium" and even some "small" clothing...I mean WTF! ...but actually I am not complaining, just confused.

I have noticed that since I have started to work out with weights that my weight loss has been pretty consistent and I am getting stronger every day.

I have so many stories to share and many opportunities to experience, but I will save all for another time. I just want you all to know that I am so grateful to have found all of you and I know how fortunate I am to have been given this gift of a lifetime.

Love,

Barb

Congratulations Barb! It seems like a lifetime ago you were having all those struggles to get approval for surgery, but I also remember it well. You have gone from such a dark place (understandably) to a place of incredible light; both figuratively and literally!!

Your results in such a short period are incredible, both on and off the scale. You're a true testament to working this tool!!

Keep posting "a lot". I'm sure I'm not the only one who loves your updates!!! :)

Thank you D.

You too are an inspiration to me. You always speak with such compassion and clarity - two things that I value so highly in people.

Thank you for always understanding!

Barb I love that you are working out and getting stronger. That feeling of being stronger is one of the greatest NSV's. You are doing a fantastic job, and taking advantage of every bit of your honeymoon phase. You've got this girl.

I was overcome with emotion when I read your reply. Thank you so much. It is so great to know that there are others here that understand the feeling of moving our bodies and gaining strength. I was so sick of not being able to move properly and feeling the burden of all of the weight that I was carrying. I use to be very fit. I was a dancer and also an aerobics instructor. It's like my body is thanking me now. I will keep you posted on my progress.

Thanks again,

Barb

The difference between walking briskly and strongly across a parking lot with a spring in my step is something I love and will never again take for granted. Like you I was active and fit when I was younger. Obesity robbed me of so much. Lumbering across the parking lot because of my weight. Having my husband drop me as close to the door as possible because walking was difficult. The fear of going back to that keeps me on the straight and narrow.

You're right that our bodies thank us for lifting the burden of weight off of them. They respond with so much more energy.

My body is by no means perfect, (and it never will be) but I am so proud of every muscle that I see defined. Each one is a testament to my hard work. Surgery didn't give those muscles, I worked hard and earned every one of them. Surgery helped me get the weight off so that I could start becoming healthier and stronger.

congrats!!! Your hard work is paying off. It really is such a great feeling.

I agree with you about clothing sizes, they are so messed up. I can often buy 'small' tops now and I'm not small. I wish all stores were consistent.

Can't wait to read the rest of your stories :)
