Surgeon appointment

on 1/2/18 11:58 am

I got a call today for the appointment I have been waiting for to meet with the surgeon, Dr. Grantcharov. Very excited! Happy to know who I have been assigned to at least, and the date. Meeting him next Tuesday, January 9th and my meeting with the anesthesiologist is scheduled for February 5th. Sounds like I should know my surgery date soon!

I am going back and forth between being very excited and somewhat worried - I assume it is normal at this point. Keep telling myself that my fears of dying in surgery need to be weighed against fear of dying from remaining the same. Looking forward to the appointment and getting some questions answered though!

It is! I keep thinking about all the good parts and trying to prepare myself for the bad. The good far outweigh the others, so looking forward to getting to surgery.

Super normal, my surgery was so easy(not everyone's experience, I know) that I could not believe I even hesitated! Stitch, that fear of death from morbid obesity or from surgery is good and healthy, hold on to it.

Thank you! Was starting to get wrapped up in the fear and why I couldn't just move on but realize you are right it's probably a very healthy thing to have.

I'm 6 days away from surgery and I am also feeling very excited, but also scared. All my doctors have told me I am very healthy (aside from my weight) and that I should have nothing to worry about. People can tell me all they want that I'll be fine, but I'll still be worrying all the way to the OR. Lol.

Think of it this're taking a risk going into surgery..but you're taking an even BIGGER risk not having this surgery in the long run.

Good luck. You will be fine and we are all here for you!

Yayy...only a few more days. Almost there. I guess it's super normal for us all to be worried about this. And the long run is what we are shooting for eh? Thanks for the reply!

Congratulations!!! You're getting super close. It's an exciting time. :)

The fear is normal. Hopefully the surgeon will alleviate your concerns.
