in line at Costco
I was in line at Costco today. I was feeling very happy about a bathing suit I was purchasing in a size I never imagined I would be. I noticed a woman in line 2 people behind me. I noticed her because I saw the items she was loading on the conveyer belt. Apple sauce, 3 cases of premier protein shakes, protein powder, etc... I don't know for sure, but if I had to guess she was stocking up pre-surgery.
I wanted to hug her, to tell her how great it would all be. To tell her that the hard times would be SO worth it.
BUT, I'm super private, no one knows about my surgery. And who knows, maybe she is too. PLUS, I should not just walk up to a stranger and ask if she's having RNY!! - SO I said nothing.
I DID say a silent 'you go girl!' in my mind, and wished her the best in my smile.
Whoever you are - and everyone else close to/about to have surgery - YOU GOT THIS!!!

Love this post! I was stocking up on premier shakes and protein powder today at the Peterborough Costco getting ready for surgery in 7 weeks. If someone had come up to me and said 'You go girl, you've got this' it would have been fantastic lol. Your post really hit home because I too bought a bathing suit, for the future me, in a size 12! It now hangs in my closet as a goal of where I want to be. Thank you for thinking of everyone waiting for surgery, you who have walked the path before us are our inspiration!
