Give yourself time, caring for your infant son and ensuring you're getting adequate nutrition is all you need to be worrying about at this point, the pounds will come off with some effort. But don't expect it to be overnight. When the weathers warmer you can get out walking with your baby to increase calorie consumption but the important thing at this point is trying to stay positive and healthy for your baby.

You may not want to hear this, but plain and simple you are eating to much. If you truly have not lost a pound in 6 weeks then you are eating as if you are in maintenance. The only way to start the weightloss up again is to decrease your calories. You should be focusing on dense proteins with a little veggies and drinking plenty of water.

What does your daily menu look like?

Lol 850-900 calories a day isnt a lot. I eas eating more pregnant and lost. I dont eat meat so dense protein is a no go. I appreciate your input though! I was only 3 months out when i got pregnant and now im 14 months out

Some people eat only 850 calories during maintenance. I would venture to guess you are going to have to drop those calories down to jump start the weight loss.

That's the tough thing with getting pregnant during your honeymoon phase. The time that we lose the most weight is the first 6months to 1 year. Some can still lose effortlessly after 1 year, but a lot of folks start having a hard time doing it. Don't be surprised if you have a very hard time getting the rest of your weight off. I have seen it time and time again.

Sadly, I think LadyGodiva is right. I mean, stalls happen, but when they last a long while, it's likely your body telling you that you have hit your maintenance sweet spot.

I don't know your stats, but I am 4'11" and weigh between 120 and 125 in maintenance. With a lot of trial and error, I now that 900 is my absolute, drop-dead, high limit for calories. I am trying to lose another 5 and it seems like I am going to have to drop down to 700 to make that happen :(

  • High Weight before LapBand: 200 (2008)
  • High Weight before RNY: 160 (2015)
  • Lowest post-op weight: 110 (2016)
  • Maintenance Weight: 120 (2017-2019)
  • Battling Regain Weight: 135 (current)

Hey girl,

Wow, 8 weeks already. Amazing! Life sure moves quickly.

There are many studies that show lack of sleep is a major contributor to having a difficult time dropping excess weight. I can only imagine right now, as a new mom, you must be exhausted. It may be possible that is contributing somehow.

You have been extremely successful with your weight loss thus far. Your journey hasn't been typical... what with bringing an amazing life into this world. But we have seen time and time again people who "come back" to their tool years later and it still works. Yours certainly does!!!

Routine will probably help, you're right. And going back to basics. Do you have access to records of what you ate in the beginning that made you successful in your weight loss? I've also heard of people doing a "pouch reset". Maybe that would be of interest to you.

You got this girl. You have been so successful through your journey, and a stall is sometimes just a stall. You had huge loss after your son was born, and your body may just be resetting. Hang in there. :)

Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. Choose happy.
