Hello lovely friends!

I have a question about sleep - since my surgery, I have had a hell of a time falling and staying asleep. I am getting an average of 4 hours a night and I'm a grumpy Gus. Did anyone else experience this or have any advice?

I do have sleep apnea and I use my cpap religiously, did anyone have their pressure change dramatically quickly after surgery?

I've been having a bit of trouble getting to sleep but then I sleep for 10 hours haven't figured out how I'm going to fit in that much sleep and go back to work next week.

That's pretty much the boat I'm in (except the 10 hour sleep - so jealous!! Hahaha) I'm back at work this week and really struggling to get moving in the morning, but then toss and turn all night.

My sleep hasn't changed much, average about 6 to 7 hours a night. How soon are you back to work?

I took 3 weeks off, and I started work again this past Monday. I wasn't a great sleeper before surgery either, so maybe that's part of it.

I am totally having the same problem! I can't fall asleep until 1:30 or 2 am and then I wake up 3-4 times between then and 9 when I make myself get up. I got up after only 6 hours of interrupted sleep the other day thinking maybe I would sleep better but I didn't nap and I still couldn't sleep until 3am. Almost made it worse.

I too wondered if it was my cpap, total I've lost 37 pounds since the pressure was set...thinking maybe it was too high and was waking me up. I tried sleeping without it the other night though and ended up waking just as many times. I read online it's a common side effect after surgery, when I searched OH it came up a lot too. Apparently we just have to wait until our bodies re-settle. Blah!

Oh boo! I'm glad I'm not alone, but sorry you're struggling too! Last night I couldn't fall asleep until 2, was up again at 4 and my alarm went off at 6. I felt like I had been hit by a bus!

It's not good that's for sure! I'm considering using a Benadryl at this point just to get a full night sleep.

I think I'm going to drop my pressure by 1 point and see if it helps - the sleep clinic I saw before surgery set it higher than strictly necessary at the time anyways. I'll let you know if it helps!

Are you able to change it on your own? I can't figure out how to change mine and just figured that the CPAP store had to change it. I'm hoping we can change it ourselves, that would be great.

Hope you get some sleep soon.
