Puree stage

Hi everyone,

Been doing my research and I have a lot of ideas for puree stage but just a couple of questions. In my book says no raw veggies. Does that mean no smoothies? Also I'm trying to stay very low carb but I'm tempted to try sweet potatoes, too many carbs. I'm worried when I start eating "real food" my weight loss will stop but at the same time excited to taste real food. Missing fruit and veggies!

thank you

Jody

You can't have raw veggies during pureed stage because their too hard. Food has to be soft and puréed in a blender. I agree that potatoes of all kinds are high carbs but your only having a tablespoon or 2 with your proteins. I found they are helpful just to create a better texture. I also pureed butternut squash and cauliflower as I found they mixed well with chicken. Just my 2 cents:)

You can do smoothies with a small bit of mushed up banana. Greek yogurt blended with sugar free jello cup and protein powder was a nice meal. I too had a bit of sweet potato, squash or turnip. One tablespoon does not add may carbs at that phase. I did not enjoy puréed meat so pretty much bypassed them until the minced stage and then just chewed, chewed, and chewed some more.
