Good morning Menu Munchins. What is everyone up to today?

This morning I'm going to yoga, then having coffee with a friend, then off to the gym. The rest of the day will be filled with the wonders of household drudgery - laundry, cleaning, paperwork.

The eats today at 3.5 years post-op are:

B. Buckets of decaf with half and half

S. Protein iced coffee between workouts

L. Salad with grilled salmon, avocado, sweet peppers, cucumber, snowpeas, sprouts and WF Honey/Dijon dressing

S2. Protein latte and some turkey slices with S&P

D. Egg/Bacon sandwich on a toasted Smartbun

S3. Small apple

Totals.930 Carbs. 65 Fibre 21, Fat 36, Protein 101

Have a great day with good choices.

Hi Corriev! I am not being critical but I think your menu needs more protein and less carbs...ie I would scrap the Weetabix for yogurt and scrap the fresh fruit. I would replace with a protein snack personally. Your numbers seem low-I think we should be 80g of protein. Might even want to think about a protein shake in there. When did you have surgery?

You might want to change your stats. It says you had surgery in 2017 not 2018.

Corrie I think Monica has some great suggestions. Bean salad, fruit salad, and Weetabix are pretty high in carbs. Do you like eggs, yogurt or chicken salad? Check out the World According to Eggface website. She had WLS and has lots of different recipes. I'm a lazy cook so often I will eat a Burnbrae Egg Bake (crustless quiche) for a meal. Upping your protein and taking the carb count below 40 should help with cravings and weightloss. Keep switching it up until you find what works for you.
