Wait Times in Hamilton?

Hi all. Just wondering if anyone has any updated information on wait times for St. Joe's in Hamilton. I've done a post search but all the info that came up is over a year old.

My situation is a bit different. I had an RNY almost 7 years ago and lost about 115 lbs. Since then I've gained back about 70 lbs. I'm seeing Dr. Hong in June to discuss a DS, but am curious about others experience with them.

Thank you.

I've met Dr. Hong and he is very nice. He is considered one of the best surgeons in Ontario. He's also cute.

Out of curiosity, because I've had an RNY, why do you want a DS?

I had an RNY 7 years ago ... and I've failed it. It didn't fail me. I've spoken with him last year and he said that once I'm a year from my ulcer surgery to contact him about a DS to get me back on track.

Hi,

I went through Hamilton as well. I started my journey in May 2017 and had my VSG surgery March 17 2018. Ten months for me. If your schedule can accommodate appointment changes, I would recommend that you call once a week +/- and ask if there are any cancellations (no cancellation lists) so be persistant. I did this and was able to bump my dietician appointment by a month.

Good Luck!

Orientation- May 2017, Pre nutrition class- Aug 2017, Blood work- Aug 2017. RPN meeting- Sept 2017. Dietician and Psychiatrist Dec 2017. Internist- Dec 2017. Meet the Surgeon Feb 20th 2018. VSG surgery march 17, 2018 with Dr. Gmora

Revision wait times in Hamilton seem longer than the wait times for VSG or RNY. The reason is because, from what I understand, only Dr. Hong does them. So only one available surgeon rather than 3. Good luck with your journey!
