Intense nausea

I think this is because of my ulcers but the past few days i've had crazy nausea. It comes in waves and lasts for hours. It's really bad and it's making it hard to take medicine, eat, and sleep. At the hospital the nurse suggested gravol or ginger gravol and i've had both but neither help so tomorrow I'll be going to see my family doctor. Have any of you been prescribed nausea medication? Which ones work the best? Did it actually help with your nausea problems? I've also heard some say this is a side effect of prevacid??

I have never had nausea from any of the PPI's, but that's just my experience. During treatment for cancer, I was prescribed Stemetil which worked so much better than any gravol for me.

Zofran (Ondansetron) is very good for nausea, especially if you get the dissolvable one (sub-lingual or ODT).

My daughter suffers from a condition called cyclic vomiting syndrome which is characterized by intense nausea/vomiting and stomach pain. She takes the Ondansetron to stop the nausea in its tracks. It can also be taken in conjunction with gravol.

Good luck!!

Zofran is good. I had to take it during pregnancy. I had hyperemesis gravidarum and it was the only thing that helped. It was really expensive but I think they have a generic now. I hope you feel better soon.
