Congrats! I'm having surgery July 9, at St Mike's. It's kinda nice that we get our month off recovery time during summer :)

my tip:

if you like pina coladas (and getting caught in the rain ) I used to mix the vanilla optifast with water, lots of ice and a few squirts of crystal light Aloha Pineapple squeeze in flavour (found it at walmart). It really does feel like you are having a treat.

Good luck with this next step in your journey.

liquid diet is super challenging. The first 4 days or so are the worst.

Also, the purees are difficult too after surgery, but soon enough you will be back onto solid foods and the yucky stages you went through to get there will be a distant memory.

I hated the Opti phase but after a few days it got easier. I found adding cocoa powder helped with the taste and benefibre helped to keep me regular. I had my surgery at Humber 3 months ago and had a great experience (except for not being able to tolerate the anesthetic). The staff and accommodations are great. Your in good hands, it's life changing!
