Hi Deb,

Thanks for the advice! I'm in Ottawa, but I would consider driving to Toronto no problem. I'm currently in the process of appealing, and I'll contact them to see what they have to say.

Hi Maggie

Dr. Borsuk is from Ottawa but also operates out of Winchester. If you google him it will give you lots of info about him

I had Dr. Nandagopal do all my procedures at USculpt. He specialises in WLS patients. Fewer surgeons are doing OHIP panni only. Panni just removes the skin below bellybutton. Depending on where your excess skin is a panni most likely won't give you the results you want. Best advice is to see a surgeon that specialises in wls as our skin is very different and we don't heal the same.

Feel free to PM me if you want.

Hi,

I do meet all the criteria. The plastic surgeon I saw wrote so on the application. I was still denied.

I haven't had cellulitis (which is a bacterial infection), but I have chronic candidiasis. I use clotrimaderm with steroid cream twice daily and have for the last 10 years. It can get painful, and it does ulcerate at times.

I don't know what else OHIP needs to hear.

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to update to let you know that I have finally been approved for the panniculectomy, and upgraded to an abdominoplasty.

My surgeon will be Dr. Michael Kriedstein in Toronto, and I can't say enough about him, and his office. They were positive and supportive and advocated for me until OHIP approved.

I'd also like to say thank you to everyone here that offered advice and words of wisdom. I appreciate every bit of it.

Maggie
