Hi all

I am 4 months post VSG and this morning at 3am I woke up with the most severe back pain. I actually cried out it was so sudden. It's now 930am and I still can't walk straight. Any ideas out there? I'm wondering gallbladder?

It could be gallbladder. Where is the pain exactly?

Call your doctor. Lots of things can cause back pain, but if it is severe enough to wake you up, you need to see your doctor.

GB, kidneys, or muscles cramps...

The last one - you may need to start supplementing minerals, like magnesium.

As I was losing weigh, My back lost a lot of support from fat in my body. Just sleeping position, my body was not set- and I often had to deal with subluxsation - and pinched nerves. I had to see my chiro once a month at least to get aligned. When I was bigger - my tendons and muscles were bigger - longer to accommodate the fat. As I was losing the fat, and some muscles, my body structure became more "unstable". Things just did not hold together as they were with the extra padding. After 2-3 years and more exercise - things got better.

With pain that bad, you need to see a doctor asap. Here's hoping it resolves very soon.

Squishy went to St. Joseph's Emergency. She has been seen by a Doctor and tests have been ordered. I'll leave it to Squishy to bring us up to date once she has some info.

Here's hoping nothing serious is looming and all turns out OK.

Home from hospital with a new script for a med that coats the stomach. Yup looks like I'm being treated for an ulcer. Doc wants me to take this med for a week and then follow up with my bariatric clinic. Thankfully my 3 month appt is on the 26th.Also thankful no surgery either.

thanks to all for their input, I really appreciate it.

*hugs*

When I had severe back pain it was a large ulcer. Then pain resonates to my lower back on the right and it was gallbladder. Insist they do an ultrasound of your gallbladder.
