I finally got the phone call! Last I heard, I would likely get the call in the first or second week of August. However, they got a cancellation and called to offer it to me. I go tomorrow ar 9:30.

Excited ... Scared ... maybe a little bit Sad, although I can't imagine why.

It's been suggested to me that I write down my questions so I don't forget. I can't really think of any. I will probably think of them afterwards.

What kinds of things did you ask about?

That's great news!

I felt a bit sad and just overall emotional when I went for my appointment too- something about actually meeting the surgeon makes it all much more real. Like, it hit me I wasn't fooling around anymore. But I felt really happy and excited coming out the appointment.

I asked what a stricture and a bowel obstruction would feel like. I think that's it. The surgeon will probably be very thorough. They will go over the mechanics of the procedure and the risks. I remember feeling that I was taking in a lot of information. Take a notepad and pen to take notes.

Good luck, I'm sure it will go very well!

Congratulations I was thinking about you earlier today and wondering if you had heard anything. The only thing I really asked was for a drs note to give up my employer. The surgeon was very good at explaining everything. Good luck tomorrow.

Very exciting! Glad to hear you finally got a call. What hospital are you going to?

I asked about whether he would actually complete the surgery or a resident would. I also asked about whether there was an option for a private room and some concerns I had about possible complications. Good luck!

I am having surgery at St. Mike's in Toronto, so I am glad that they do these appointments by video call. My husband is coming with me too. He hasn't been to an appointment with me since orientation.

Oh St. Michaels was good, I felt confident in them. Weeeiirrddd decor in the waiting room but hey as long as they take good care of you medically it's all good. Glad our husband is going with you, it's nice to have the support of those who will be surrounding you for surgery.
