Running with my dog

Hey all,

I am coming up on 11 months post surgery (on Wednesday). Things have been a bit tough for a couple of months. I have an ulcer and possible complications with my gallbladder. BUT things are still way better than they were pre-op. Wow.

So I left my dog alone today longer than I normally do. When I got home tonight, she had a lot of energy to burn!! We went out for a walk, but she started running, as she sometimes does. Normally I would take a couple of steps, or hold her back. Tonight, I decided to run with her!! We've had a couple of skunk encounters where I've had to run!! So I thought, why not run.

I pushed my limits. I'd tell myself "I'll run until that fire hydrant" or whatever. Then, when I got there, I was still feeling good, so I kept going! I did it three times on our walk!!

I'm not ready for any marathons, but I'm thrilled with the progress. I feel great and my dog was so happy!!

Happy journey everyone!!!

Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. Choose happy.

This is fantastic! I have to say that exercise (and the the ability to do it) is probably the best thing that has come out of WLS for me. Our bodies were meant for moving! Congratulations.
