Straws? Almost a year out.

I only use straws once in a while, but I really HATE drinking water since surgery. Today was particularly tough with water intake so I thought I would give it a try with a straw and lo and behold, the water went down easier with it. I know we were told not to use straws, though. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

I've used straws but I'm careful not to be pulling air in through them.

I am 5 months out and I use straws in my water cup and have for a couple of months, I have no issues. When getting my orientation the nurse said she knows patients will use straws again but if it made you uncomfortable then don't use them.

I also discovered squeeze bottles are useful for getting water down easy.
