Hey Cindy - Hamilton does not work that way.  You will be called with your surgery date - usually 2 - 3 mths away - depending on the OR schedules.  Sometimes they get extra OR time because other surgeons are on holidays.....  I had less than 2 weeks notice.

Good Luck - I know it is hard to wait - but your turn will come!

Start tracking everything - be sure to get all the water and 60 g of protein - limit cals to 1200 and work on the 40/30/30 protein/carb/fat ratios.

Next step - get moving - walk walk walk...

Final step - keep coming to the board - we will help you!

    Take care!

Thanks for all you do - if you can't get your up to date spreadsheet back - maybe just take the totals from the last time you reported to us and start there?

Hello Team A - I did not abandon you!  4 weeks of vacation and I am back - but I did count my activity while I was gone.  4 wks = 92 km - not much considering some of the other posts - but you can only do so many laps around the cruise ship!

    Take care and keep moving!

I will be away on vacation for the next 3 weeks, but plan on doing lots of walking on the cruise ship. I will report when I return - Nov 12.

Brenda - I understand in my brain that I needed to eat more, to get out of starvation - but it is hard to tell my other brain that it is OK to eat what is needed - so afraid of failure.

I also think that you are not eating enough and it will cause your weighloss to slow.  This happened to me and that is why I had this discussion with the dietician.

I know it makes sense - but it is so hard to wrap my brain around it.

I would suggest upping your cals for a few weeks to see if it makes a difference....

    Good Luck!

Yup - it sure does - I have it on my laptop, my tablet and my phone - no reason not to track!  If only I could apply the same thinking to exercise!  LOL!

I have myfitnesspal on my droid phone and it works great!

At my 3 mth check up - the dietician told me to eat more - to about 900 cal per day.  He didn't give me specifics about carbs/fats.  He suggested cutting some protein at meals - instead of 3 oz protein - make it 2 oz leaving room for carbs and fats.  ALWAYS - make sure it is over 60 g protein.
I printed out the food diary for him to see and that is when he mentioned to add more vegetables/fruit - more carbs.

I am playing with the carb/fat count to see what works for me - somedays I don't lose and others I drop alot - hard to tell.  I keep tracking and tracking and hopefully I will find a trend.

    Good Luck!

Thank you all for this reminder.  I agree - I have spent 25 years telling myself how bad and incapable I am.  That is not me - I am a good person and very capable at almost everything.

Thanks everyone!  I am taking OTC Zantac 150 mg 2x a day, I wouldn't say it isn't helping...but it is still an issue.

Wait to see what the surgeon has to say.  Nice to hear that others have experienced this and it seems like nothing major to worry about.  Thank you for that!

    Topic: RE: Heartburn AFTER surgery?
     Hey there!

Had a follow up appt yesterday at the Hamilton Clinic and I mentioned having trouble with heartburn since the Prevacid had run out.  I am using Zantac 150 mg 2x day and it is still an issue.  Wakes me up at night. I have an appt to see the surgeon next week.

    Never had issues before surgery.....

Any thoughts on what could be happening?
