    Topic: RE: Dr Starr!

    I was switched over to him as he had an OR opening and they called and asked if I wanted to switch over to him, SURE I replied,  HE ROCKS. His staff is amazing and he is (although a very dry sense of humour) an amazing and skillful surgeon and wonderful and compassionate human being.  LOVE him.  Had my surgery June 11, 2012.

    Topic: RE: Damn u marble cheese!!

    :...you never really know what your pouch is going to reject (other than sugar, of course)?!

    Please do not COUNT on your pouch rejecting sugar.  Some people dump, some do not!!   Try the cheese again in a week or so.  Very little and very slow.  I am loving cheese.  In the beginning I could not eat tuna at all.  I puked all the time from it, now it is a staple in my diet!!

    Good luck.

    Sandy, I think it is fabulous that you are being open and honest.  I think this is key.  For myself, I have always hidden these truths!! You will win the war!

    Keep thinking one day at a time!!

    Topic: RE: I just ate 6 sugar free chocolate chip cookies

    Birdie girl is absolutely right.  Keep it out of the house if you feel you cannot control the monster.  Yes, we have other issues that must be dealt with CBT for most of us.  I think the trick as said by Birdiegirl, is finding a balance.  Treat is ok., if it can be controlled.  I am petrified now that I am 6 months out.  The tea drinking in the evenings works somewhat and if not, I put myself to bed early.

    Good luck and be good to you!

    Topic: RE: Head Hunger

    Yes, tea with sugar twin for me and a plop of 1% milk. Perfect.  I wi**** took me hours to eat an apple. I need to work on this.  I still sometimes eat too quickly.  Well, most times if I have to be honest.  Not so much my meals.  Snacks are eaten too quickly tho.

    Tracey;

    That is such an awesome idea.  I never thought of that.  I shall go and buy some Decaf teas and do the very same.  When I am at work it much easier to control.  At home after a nice long walk, a class at the gym and dinner, I sit on the couch and then the pekish feelings start!!   Thank you thank you !

    Topic: RE: Head Hunger

    Sure this has been discussed a bazillion times before.  I just thought I would share (aside from Cognetive Behavioral Therapy and practice) I have started to use a cup of tea as a deterrent (it helps me so much) when I have the "munchies" which for the most part is just bad habit, 50 years of behaviour and empty promises of satisfaction.  Anyone else have little tricks?

    Topic: RE: PANNILECTOMY Surgery not covered by OHIP now according to Guelph Orient.
    You are right Monica, it does not seem believable at all.  You are right about "a friend of mine says" and hard data.  Perhaps it is only pertaining to her surgeon and quota's I only know that they are now re-scheduling joint replacements to get them done by end of December, perhaps this is only an isolated case.

    Cheers.
