All macronutrients have to be listed so if the protein isn't listed then it's likely because it's zero. Legally they have to put the calorires/fat/carbs/protein on everything. I have tried a few programs over the years and my two favourites are Sparkpeople and My Fitness Pal Both are good jus****ch some of the pre-entered totals as they have been wrong a few times.
I think you all just need to block each other. You are not accomplishing anything with all the back and forths between the numerous thread. We all have an opinion and I have been on the opposite side of the popular one and frankly don't care I say what I want to and those that don't like it can go pound salt and block me. If people are sending you nasty emails then block them and be done with it. And for those that the OP offended do the same. One comment has now turned the whole board today into a big bunch of bull**** Get over yourselves and hit the block button and keep your sanity intact.
Click the tab My Home at the top then click on Goals then Change Goals. Select the Custom one then change it. You can pick how many calories you want or change the percentages, etc. Then just Save it.
I wouldn't use them too often if ever. Maybe you need to go back to pureed for a few days and see how that goes. Not everyone is ready to move on to the next phase at exactly the same time. I was always told if one stage doesn't work go back to one that did and then try again a few days later. The drink you mentioned is more like a puree so maybe that's all you need to do to get in other foods right now.
I've never had that feeling from plain water so can't help with the going away part. Have you tried making cucumber water for a change. I slice up some English cucumbers and add to a jug and fill it with water. You get a bit of flavour from the cukes. I sometimes add fresh mint to it as well. Just do anything to get the liquids in. Not sure if you like herbal tea but maybe they would help. Are you always trying ice cold water? Some people find room temperature water is easier to get down for some reason.
It's not a plateau or a stall. Plateaus and stalls are when you don't lose for at least 3 weeks. You will have times that you don't lose weekly so don't fret I record my weight weekly but look at the bigger picture of month over month. I know that the weight can fluctuate throughout the month but as long as from one month to the next it's down that is all that matters. Your body is just hanging onto everything as it's not sure what is going on. You may continue to lose inches and not pounds then all of a sudden have a huge drop.
Depends what you are trying to do. If you are in maintenance then it's not terrible at all, if you are trying to lose then you may want to reduce them a bit. I'm not a fan of protein bars as I find they have a lot of carbs for the amount of protein that you get. Not sure what the stats are on your protein brownie but if the carbs are high, maybe different snacks would be better. How about pepperettes and cheese instead as they are still portable and convenient. Not sure if you did add in the taco or not on top of your salad but you could remove that or even half it. All the stuff you add to your morning yogurt am sure is to help keep you regular but maybe you don't need them all and could lose a few carbs there too if you reduced the amount.
Almost everything on your list has carbs in it so it's going to add up fast.
Jane they can't just stop offering it one area. Perhaps they stopped sending people to Hamilton because you were supposed to get a surgeon and it may take some time to get back in network with another surgical centre but it will happen. You have waited this long and I know it's hard but hang in there and soon enough your turn will be here. Why not contact the registry and ask them where you will be sent now. I'd rather get my information from the horse's mouth than anywhere else.
Absolutely no milk is allowed. Not sure if the person above made a mistake when she wrote it out but it's not allowed at any of the centres.
If you click the link in my signature line for the recipe group there is a whole thread dedicated to surviving optifast and there are a lot of recipes. As for fibre, get the metamucial unflavoured pills that have no sugar in them and take them with each shake. It will help to keep you regular as at first the liquid just wants to run through you and you end up with diarrhea and the metamucil will help absorb some of that liquid so you don't.
Most people think every new ache or pain is from their surgery and will call their centre. Personally I was never this way. I know my body well enough that if something feels wrong then it's wrong. If it's just slightly different and no real signs of distress then i wait it out and see. If you are in pain or vomitting non stop then I'd seek help but otherwise I ride things out. I don't get rattled too easily but have seen a lot of what I consider hypochondriacs that see their surgeon or centre for everything.
For some reason it seems to be more common in VSG alone, not sure why but as a dinosaur around here that reads many different forums, I see it a lot on the VSG forum and seldom on the DS forum.
Nobody is being approved for OOC. She could ask to be seen by one of the surgeons at St. Joe's Toronto that are in network with HRRH as they are more open to VSG as a choice. GERD is common after VSG and most with VSG end up on PPI for life. Perhaps since she has acid reflux to begin with, they don't want to make matters worse? I know that Sam1am who had a VSG over 4 years ago said her reflux is just as bad if not worse with her VSG.
Nice to see you back around.
Marny you sure about the calorie count This is the brand that I buy and the calories are nowhere near 300. With the stats you provided for fat/carb/protein it only adds up to 217 calories.
I love them in yogurt and on salad.
Not sure what type of pasta dishes you normally made but when I make lasagna I eat the guts and leave the noodles, when I make penne with sausage and peppers and onions, I do the same, I pick out the penne and eat just the meat, veggies and cheese. I have made spaghetti 3 times in 8 years and I let them eat all the noodles and I enjoy some heavy duty meat sauce with fresh parm on top.
Left shoulder pain is very common after lap abdominal surgery. They pump you full of gas so they can work and the gas can irritate the diaphragm which in turns causes referred shoulder pain. You can try a heating pad on it to help relieve it. Call your centre if you are concerned but it is very common.
My face looks fine. I think if you have good genes and your skin has always been good, your face holds up well. Its not like we have stretch marks on our face. My skin bounced back and had no sagging at all. As I get older, I'm getting a bit of the turkey neck, that only I notice, but it has to do with age and not weight loss.
Put the crushed pill in your mouth and drink some water. It goes down a lot quicker that way and less aftertaste.
