Topic: RE: Please help with protein info processed foods, like canned anything always has more sodium. However, early out, they do in a pinch as your healing. You may find you need to "soften" the tuna and chicken with no fat mayo or yoghurt because if it is too dense it might be difficult to get down early out. I used alot of yoghurt with protein powder the first few weeks-soft and grek yogurt has alot of protein too. Cottage cheese is another idea. Do you go on pureed/soft/ or straight to soft foods? I still at nearly 5 years out, buy skinless boneless chicken(on sale-I fill the freezer) and roast it so I have it all week. I make chicken salad(yoghurt as the sauce), chicken ceasar salad..you get the idea, but it is real meat so less additives. As for protein/fat...did you get a ny info from your dietician on this?otherwise tracking programs like fitday.com or myfitnesspal.com will calculate that for you-there are even apps for smart phones too. I believe the average amount of sodium an adult is supposed to eat is 1500mg day. Hope this helps. See you Tuesday at te meeting?
