I had to stay in Duluth for a week too. I stayed at the downtown Best Western. Their medical rate is 35 a night. They have a shuttle service too and from the hospital which is only a couple of blocks away. Best wishes going out to you!

You are doing so well Tove........ be proud of yourself! I consider myself a very slow looser....... but as long as I keep loosing I'm happy. I've got only three lbs left until I reach onederland and I can't wait. Maybe we'll get there together!!

Hi Leigh-Ann and all. I really enjoy this daily post. I read it all the time . It's good to see what others are doing on their weightloss journeys. I appreciate the ideas, and it's good to see that others are having the same issues with food that I have. We sure aren't alone.

You can get the transfer paper at Michael's or Joanne's in the states. They do look like they are woven right into the fabric. Very neat!

Hi......... I went to St. Mary's too! I had Dr. Medlin........... he's great. I thought the care I received was excellent. I stayed in hospital two nights. I only took the bare necessities with me, and found that was quite enough..... stuff like personal hygiene articals.I left in the same clothes I came in. Just make sure you have loose, comfy stuff. No need for entertainment as you basically rest. Dr. Medlin checks for leaks in the OR. he does a double check actually...... so there isn't a need for checking afterwards. I stayed in Duluth three additional days after I was discharged just to be close to the hospital in case of trouble. I had no problems at all. I hope your adventure is as trouble free as mine has been!

I'm east of you in Manitouwadge. Dr. Medlin did my surgery too. I had mine on April 15th. I've lost 48 lbs. I'm a slower looser, but happy to see the scale moving in the downward direction. Welcome to the board!

Donna!! I live in Manitouwadge.................... we met a fox on the street the other day while driving our truck. He casually stood up....... stretched and yawned before moving off the road........ Manitou if you remember the main street into town. We love it here. :)

Hey there............. Dr. Medlin is leaving the Duluth Clinic in July. He's likely all booked up until then. He's moving to Washington state where he'll do general surgery and start up a WLS department! Apparenlty, he wants less winter than Duluth has. :) Dr. Pitt is great too, so I'm sure you are in good hands. :)

You'll do fine for your exam, just relax, be yourself and answer all the questions you are asked honestly, not with answers you think they want to hear. I was asked questions about my dieting past, my family/support system and a whole lot of questions that didn't seem to relate to anything. Remember it's not a test you have to pass.
