    Topic: RE: Endoscopy

Had this procedure done first thing this morning 7 am and have been having diarrhea  since 4:00 pm.

Thinking this is because of the air they put in my pouch.  Wondering if this is normal after this procedure?

I love our KBC  Kristine NPis a sweetie, she  has done back flips for me...I am looking into a revision from an old 2001 RNY. The  SW and RD are great as well.

    Topic: RE: Looking for Revision

As JJ said,  get a  referral from your GP to the bariatric registry.  He/she must apply at Bariatricregistry.ca

I too had RNY by Patric Yau in Jan 2001.  Started at 347 down below 200 back up to 289 now at 257.

Dr Dennis Hong in Hamilton does revisions from RNY to DS.  It might be worth your while to speak to him to see what he suggests.  He requested that I had several tests done and then i will meet with him.... had last test today.

Topic: RE: remind me - DS people?

I am waiting for a date to see Dr  Hong  about doing my revision from RNY to DS.

I had my last test today (Endoscopy) that he requested i have before he sees me in his office.  I was told by his office  that he only does 3-4  revisions per year.  Crossing my fingers that i will be in that small number

B 12 injection  once a month should get your levels up.  You could also take a sublingual B 12, I buy mine at a health food store.

Congrats.. Once you get your appointment with  Kristine the NP, the SW and RD appointment will follow with in a week or two and depending what tests you need done  everything should move quite quickly.

    Here is how mine went
    March 28~~ Orientation
    April 25 ~~ NP
    April 26~~ Blood work
    April 30~~ RD
    May 1 ~~ SW
June 4~~ 2nd appoint with RD and SW
June 19 ~~ Abdominal Ultra Sound
July 16 ~~ Sleep Apnea Consult
Still waiting for the Upper Endoscopy appoint, the requisition for it went missing so Kristine is pushing it though now, hopefully I will be given get a date this week.

I am hoping that all these tests will be completed and sent to Dr Hong by mid August..

If you want to speed things up you could fast on the day you see the NP and then go to get your blood work done right after your appointment with Kristine.  Would certainly save some time and a trip back to HDH.

    Topic: RE: Got my date
    Thats awesome...congrats!
    Topic: RE: Kingston Bariatric RATC
Hi MissaAnne,  I only have 1 test  left to do.  I have been waiting a good month for them to call me with a date for this test so I spoke to the NP about it and it some how got missed so she is putting it through right away.

I have an appointment for a sleep consult next month and then all testing will be done.  Once all the results are in they will be sent  to Dr Hong in Hamilton,  he will then decide if he wants to do my revision or not.  If he does I could still have a very long wait because he only does 3-4 revisions per year.

In the meantime I am still trying to get this regain off.

Where are you in the process? Have you had your orientation yet?
Topic: RE: Niagara Falls cross border shopping suggestions, please!

I have a friend that wants me to pick up a protein powder  for her next time I go over it is called  Syntrax Nectars -  Pink Grapefruit ....any ideas where I might find this product in Watertown?

It's a shame we don't had nearly enough SF products here in Canada!

Topic: RE: Looking for people 10+ yrs Post Op !

Yes Karen, I am looking into having a DS done by Dr Hong in Hamilton.  I am in the process of having some tests done and then I wait for his decision.

Apparently he only does 2-4 revisions per year..... I'm not to excited about that , If he refuses to do me my paper work will be transferred to Quebec to Dr Gagner.

I would even consider a ERNY, I am pretty sure I had a Distal RNY rather that the Proximal that is commonly done today.

I continue to try to work my tool as best I can while I wait  to hear what Dr Hong has to say.

well long story short I am looking into getting a revision. I'm 54 pounds higher than my lowest weight.  Never reached goal.
