I didn't ask about where to stay because I plan to stay in my niece's condo building.  There is a guest suite that we can rent by the night for around $80.  It's a full condo with two bedrooms, more or less a hotel suite.  Can cook at my niece's place.  Never said anything about nurses visiting.  I think I will see him a couple of times before I leave for home.  Not sure about driving, I just know that I have to stay very quiet for the first three weeks.

Yes, dr, Kreidstein.  Done at Scarborough hospital, one night stay.  I am paying $4000 above OHIP, without mons repair (you know, that oversized, puffy thing!). If I choose mons repair, it will be $5000.  He wants me to stick around here for two weeks - it's not just a little car ride if I need him - that's the only trouble with being so far away.  Don't know if I will stay that long, will have to play it by ear.  Don't know how my cost measures up against what others have paid, but I am satisfied.  I had set a hopeful budget of exactly this amount.

He definitely said first 3 weeks I do nothing - just because I feel good doesn't mean I should do the gardening!   too much can cause fluid buildup issues that would require needle aspiration.  But I am not sure how long I am supposed to be off work.  It's school startup at end of August, and I would hate to burden other staff by not being there, so depending on what he says, I might be able to go back on a modified schedule with someone to shadow me and do the lifting and running around.

Very impressed, that's all I can say.  Will be having panni, upper abdomen, muscle tightening and hernia repair.  Dr. Uses progressive tension sutures to reattach skin layer to muscle, which promotes healing, eliminates void space where fluid can build up, thereby eliminating the need for drains.  It also secures the incision line in place so it can't ride upward,  he has had tremendous success with this procedure.  I have googled and you tubed it and like what I see.  August 2nd is my day.  Not far off, can't believe this is happening.

Topic: RE: New photos required for Ontario driver's license?

In Thunder Bay, they won't do a new pic for you before expiry.  Workaround is to just tell them you lost your license.  Instant new pic, but probably have to pay $10.

Sorry Mary, I do know what you went through, and this part was a breeze for me.  So now I go to see him, find out how much extra it's going to cost us, and go from there.  I really think surgery will be this summer.  Staff told me to come with my supplemental insurance, and I would be filling in forms for the hospital, my ist of meds.  So it sounds like this is a go for me.   I seriously have knots in my stomach.

Topic: RE: how long does it take to DUMP

I was always confused by this because I was so proud to choose the sf treat rather than indulging in the real thing, and couldn't believe how my body reacted to it.  It was an awful four hours.  It's the only time I have had such a severe reaction.

Topic: RE: Recent patients of Dr Nan

The sutures reattach the skin to the muscle, which eliminates the void where fluid would build, thus no need for drains.  So I guess if there are drains, that suture technique was not used.  I don't think too many dr's use it.  Thanks, I was just curious.  Many things to think about before my consult next week.

The link took me to my own profile, but I was able to see your pics when I clicked on your picture.  Anyway, all I can say is if he doesn't see the progress he should get new glasses.  You look fabulous.  Congratulations.

Does Dr Nan use progressive tension sutures and no drains for tummy tuck?

The one time I had a severe dump, after eating sf ice cream, I started feeling unwell about 15 minutes after.  Nausea, severe cramps and gas, diarrhea

    Topic: RE: Nail Polish?

Bad memories.  I had my very first pedicure before my surgery only to be told to remove it.  Midnight before surgery I realized I didn't remove it.  I had remover but no cotton pads.  Had to use q-tips, and it took me about an hour.  Man was that stuff on there but good.  And what a waste of a beautiful pedicure.

Just to clarify, this is for my consult.  Surgery will be later.  When I reread my message, it sort of sounded like I might be surgeried next week.

Topic: RE: OHIP approval in record time!

Yes, I went through the bariatric centre for the referral.  However, a colleague had a tt with him several years ago, and he said he just needed a referral from any dr., and that she could even go through a walk-in clinic.  When I made contact with his office, I was told just to submit the pictures they requested.  However, I chose to give him a rundown of my issues as well.  I think for those of us in this condition, the problems we have are the same for the most part.

I am definitely going to upgrade.  I know that if I didn't, I would be dissatisfied.  I have been at war with my body for most of my life, and I want to do the best I can for myself this time around, $$ permitting.
