Dental implications?  Some come to mind:

• vitamin/mineral deficiences show in the colour of gums and cheeks
• the usual, no NSAIDs -- particularly important if you've got intractable dental pain (my history)
• significant changes in my medications, i.e. no more oral diabetes meds, off insulin and any interactions with medications

So, yes, tell -- the dental group is part of my medical care team;  they need to know.

As others have said, it's very straightforward -- hardly worth the cost of parking (to say nothing of the drive), but I digress.

Yes, be prepared to buy your OptiFast ...bring your credit card.   Don't fear OptiFast -- I enjoyed it.  I liked the taste, all chocolate, and knew each packet was bringing me closer to what I worked so hard for.

I spent no more than ten minutes with Dr. Mamazza, four of which he was on the telephone.   That was ten minutes longer than I saw him during the surgical process, literally 45 seconds on my last day in hospital.  I saw many, masked people in the operating room, one of whom was Dr Mamazza.

There wasn't time to build a warm fuzzy relationship *grin*.   I didn't *need* warm and fuzzy -- I got excellent surgical skills and a superb nursing staff.
