    Sorry, they're actually NSA (no sugar added) pickles...sweetened with SPLENDA.  I buy the Vlasic brand when I go shopping in the USA.  However, the Low Carb Canada store (on Birchmount Ave. south of Eglinton in Scarborough) sells a NSA brand called "Mt. Olive".

    Thanks Barb!  That CAL count kinda freaked me out a bit.....don't think I've ever had it so high!! indecision

    However, as I am going to the pool today, thought I'd be burning some extra energy and would be OK with it.  Generally, I am quite sedentary hence, my low intakes.  Swimming is really the only exercise I am capable of....other than lifting my 5 lbs weights for toning....so I'm VERY excited today!  Might be just the thing to get those scales moving again??

    Got back from US shopping trip yesterday.....Mmmmm so nice to sleep in my own bed  yes

    Shopped everywhere!  Walmart, Kmart, Sam's Club (Vits & Premier shakes + clothes), Outlet Mall, Target, Big Lots, Tops (for my fave Chobani yogurt), Carhart store (stuff for my son)...and got some wonderful new outfits....I'm a "happy" girl!!  kiss  Mini-Vacations are FANtastic! 

    Stayed on track "eating wise" as I took all my own brekkie, lunch and snacks....ordered an 8oz rib eye at Ponderosa on Mon night and ate it for dinner on Tues night as well. Weight is up 1.5 lbs today but, haven't had a BM since Mon......prolly 'cause I didn't get All my daily water in.

    B - Premier choc shake + 1 T Flaxseed + 2 T Chia Seed + 3 T Hemp Hearts

    S - 1/4 c. raw Pumpkin seeds

    L - Walmart "Our Finest" plain FF GY w/1 T Torani Rsapberry syrup + 1/4 c. Edamame beans

    There IS an almond milk with coconut flavour.....The recent recipe for Amanda's Protein Balls called for it and I searched "everywhere" for the #*%!?* stuff.....finally found it at Bulk Barn (Shoppers World plaza).....BLUE DIAMOND, ALMOND BREEZE,  UNSWEETENED, "ALMOND COCONUT" (Soy & Lactose free)

    LOL, OK.... I know you're on drugs and feeling pretty tired BUT, what a "tease" you are!!!    (I don't recall the recipe being posted this week??)

    Your GP prolly is better informed, than the Gyne, about ALL you've been through and how you're handling "recovery"....a solid recovery rules out the chance of a relapse, eh?    Taking it "a week at a time" makes sense to me.....Take care  kiss

    Hi Sylvie......Have you tried mixing some decaff coffee into your shake?  I find them too "sickly" sweet myself and adding the coffee really makes a difference.  I used a shaker bottle + 4 ice cubes + 1 T Flaxseed and 1/2 to 1c. coffee initially post op. 

    These days, I am only having half the shake + 2-3 cubes, as I have recently added Chia seeds and Hemp Hearts (quite high in cal, carb, prot & fiber) in an effort to help my constipation issues....and, it IS working TG!!

    Hope you find a way to make them more palatable.....they've got so many good nutrients which you really need right after your surgery.  You might also want to look up recipes on the Ontario Recipes Forum.....many people have had similar probs and made up their own concoctions.

    Pat....you STILL have much more recuperating to do.....I know you want it over but, it WILL take time.....like, it wasn't "just a papercut" ya know ?!?!    It's such a slow, frustrating process so, get lotsa rest, put your feet up and listen to your body Girl....you'll get there....patience is a Virtue!!  kiss

    What a "genius" to make your protein shake into a "Pina Colada"....I'll bet it's FANtastic!!!!  I always used to order "virgin" Pina Coladas at the bar (never been a drinker).....SO YUMMY!!!  Please let me have your recipe    my mouth is watering and want to make it ASAP!   Hmmmmm, wondering if Torani or DaVinci have a SF pina colada syrup.....will check it out stateside next week for sure.
