I didn'****ch the game because well I'm not a football person.  My gay friend called and said, girl, you better turn it on and I was in my office so he said he would tape it and send it to me and he did and let me just say, Madge knocked it out of the park.  Wow!!!  I am only a couple of years older than her and if I could move like that.

Today, I have to run into my pcp's office and get a B-12 shot and he is going to go over my last lab results. Aside from the shot and the doctor's visit, there will be nothing exciting happening.  After work my dance partner and I are going shoe shopping. I need a pair of ruby red slippers, so we are going to either find them for me to buy and wear, or we are going to find some that he and I can paint.  I am hoping for the already ruby red.  Our little dance studio is doing a group dance to over the rainbow.  When we first started practicing for the thing, I thought, this is going to be horrible…a bunch of really bad dancers, dressed in really weird clothes…but, it doesn't seem to be that bad.  The Ruby Red Slippers--the name of our performance, so we all need the ruby reds or close to them.

Well, I gotta run…going to leave a little early today.  Hope you all have a great day.

    Morning Marti,

Oh yeah, Madonna did look awesome, but then again, if I had had the opportunity to live her lifestyle, I might look that good too!!!  and dahling, when I met you, you looked awesome!!!

I enjoyed Madonna's performance, especially the last number. . .

As for the commericals, well they were kind of flat, my favorite was the Acura one.

As for the time thing, they do things on Pacific time on this site, so that's why it was off. . .

Hugs, hope you have a good day and it's really great seeing you post again.

You area sweetie Laureen...but I sure need to work out more as the old bones are starting to solidfy.........

BTW I did go back to sleep with my TV on so that I would "sleep light" and my husband came into my room and turned the TV off and went back to bed..... so I overslept and didn't wake up until 8:10 am.

I managed to get a shower and hair done and to my appointment at 9:00 am.   DH and I
stopped sharing bedrooms years ago,,,we have "temperature issues" he likes a bedroom you could hang meat in...I prefer a normal room, windows closed  excuse me we live in Wisconsin, it is sooo cold in his room when I walk by it in the morning...there is a cold draft coming from under the door.

My head and sinuses seem kind of full right now and I know it is because I was in such a hurry this morning I did not have time to do my netty pot in the shower. I do it in the shower because it is too messy to do in the sink. I like that I am able to rinse out my sinuses in the shower. I can blow and not worry about it going all over my mirror. I have not had a cold all winter and this is the first year. I may have to go mess up my mirror.

I was watching Downton Abbey last night when my cousin burst into my room and said I just had to go see how awesome Madonna was.  So I missed part of a very interesting WWI drama to watch that over-the-hill floozy gyrate her behind trying to pretend she is not living in Menopause Country.

Her voice grates on my ears and her pathetic attempts at youthful exuberance are... well, pathetic.

And that's what I think of the Material Girl.

I love Downton Abbey, but I always record it so that I don't miss a moment. Let me know if you want to know what happened.

I love Madonna...did you ever see the movie Evita....absolutely wonderful!!

I liked her older music especially and I loved the production. Jamie King is from Madison, where I live and he does big stage productions for a lots of the big name stars....you have to admit the dancing was phenomenal. But then I do love all kinds of music and all kinds of dancing when they are very good.

    Hi Marti!

So nice to meet another Downton Abbey fan.  I was recording it too, so was able to rewind.

Do you think Bates killed that witch of a wife?  He had a bruise on his face when he came back from London...hhhhmmm.

And Mary seems to be up the creek without a paddle with that horrible fiancé.  Maybe the buttler will kill him...

I'll probably watch it again tonight to make sure I didn't miss anything.

    Ciao,

    Maria

I just have to get a CD of the other seasons. Marti

    Hi Marti

The Gordon guy is cousin Patrick who was to be the heir to the Grantham earldom (since they only have girls)  and marry Mary, but then he supposedly drowned with the Titanic six years prior.  His story is suspicious, but will probably turn out to be true...who knows.  I recommend you renting the first season; it was awesome.

You're right about Bates being very kind, but Mrs. Bates  has put him through the ringer -- including going to jail in her place when she committed a crime.  Everyone has their limit, and Bates may have reached his.

I know my putdown of Madonna sounds like sour grapes, but I truly think she is famous only due to her ability to shock in the 1980s, and now because 'she is looking so well for her age.'  She is vulgar and not talented enough to warrant such fame...just sayin'

BTW, Liz Taylor had many ailments since she was a young woman, but all the drinking and gluttony sure took its toll.

    Ciao,

    Maria

Marti, I don't know how we were posting at the same time (or nearly) and I didn't see your post at all before I went to bed.

I just saw the halftime show ... I'm not a Madonna fan, but she sure was awesome. I was hurting jus****ching her move. I could never move like that, even when I was younger. Ouch! Boy, she's flexible.

Eileen I know it was my bad....that's what I get for posting when I am half asleep.  sorry. M.....
ps Yep I gotta give that girl her props for taking good care of herself....we all think is is easier for the very rich....but I know lots of very rich fat people....it takes a lot to get yourself off the couch and take care of yourself...don't I know it. ....Mike struggles to get me to work out ...I have a million excuses.

Look at Elizabeth Taylor, super rich and never took care of herself, no wonder she had so many ailments...don't get me wrong...I love old Liz, in fact when I was younger they always told me I looked like her...then I progressed into looking like the Barefoot Contessa.....don't get me wrong Ina is a nice lady....but I liked it better when I looked like Liz.

Okay, I have to put my two cents' in about Madonna, too.  I've never been a big fan.  But what I observed last night is that she had a very healthy crew of 20-somethings on stage with her and they were all tasked with very gently moving her around!  Don't get me wrong--I'm 54 and I couldn't do what she did.  But those young men were lifting her and flipping her and moving her all over that stage!  She had a LOT of help!!!    Just sayin' . . .

I totally agree with you about the yong and strong 20 somethings flip her around, but that that was a little platform she was dancing on in "like a prayer" and there was nothing to hold on to....and she stooped and kneeled and got back up easily...all the while singing. ...and in 6 iinch heels....I couldn't even walk in 6 inch heels.

Check it out here if  you haven't seen it.

be sure to do the full screen on it...just awesome. I think..

Tee hee!  I'm 5'10".  I've never even worn a pair of 6" heels!  That would make me 6'4"!!!

I agree too that she was lifted around, but I do dancing with a very tall and strong man and he lifts me and twirls me around and let me just add that being manhandled sometimes is more difficult that doing it on your own.  Holding your arms straight or crooked at just the right angle is very difficult and sometimes when I finish dancing, I am as sore as if I had done pushups.  Dancing, no  matter how you do it, is hard work.

    Hi Marti and everyone....

Just popping in to say "hi" and to comment on Madanna.

I thought she did great for her age. I agree, if you watched closely she did have a lot of help. She wasn't moving nearly as fast as the others were. They held her up quite often too. Still overall, I sure couldn't do it!! I also agree that she has had much help cosmetically to look that great...oh to be rich!!
    Liked her better in Evita!!!

    HUGS...connie d

I think you are more beautiful than Madonna....you may not be rich but you glow from the inside...you are so kind and sweet.
