Hi Trish, you are up bright and early. It is supposed to be cold and snowy today.  We totally missed last weekends storm in Colorado and eastern Nebraska. My week is pretty quiet. Same old routine. I am so ready for spring. Have a great week. Mona

     I'm back.

I stayed in bed a while this morning watching TV, because Utley fell asleep ontop of me.  I did not have the heart to make him move.

I have to get a document notarized to renew my handicapped placard.  My current one expires this month.

I posted on Facebook that I saw significant healing in the larger wound on my leg when the nurse changed the dressing yesterday.  There is still some dead tissue that needs to be debrided, but the rest of it is healing nicely.

Hope everyone has a great day.

    Hugs,
    Trish

    Good Afternoon Trish and everyone.....

Oh what a night!! I had one of my stay up most of the night nights!!! I finally made myself go to bed at 4:30AM!!
I got a lot done. I wrote out Valentine's Day cards to my grandchildren and went to mail them at the Post Office about 1:00AM. I then stopped at the grocery store to pick up  some things they had on sale. I came back and cut up my two packages of strawberries and then I did my sister's too. I then proceeded to organize the pantry. My sister is one who just puts anything anywhere it will fit. It really looks good now!!

So I slept today until 10:30 so I am way behind in my morning routine. I decided to check in here before I do anything else.

Wishing you all a really great day!! Prayers for many in need. So many on OFF with illnesses and other situations.

Love and hugs to you all my  wonderful friends...connie d

I am definitely much more happy then I was just a few weeks ago. I still cry everytime after I speak with Nic and Grace. I did the same thing when I moved to Iowa with my other grandchildren. It will get better.

Judy...I really do understand how you are feeling about your mom. It is not a happy place to be. The waiting knowing the end is so near. I was there and still miss my mother everyday. I can't wait to see her again one day!!

Try to remember all the good times with your mom and talk to her about them. No one can take those memories away!

Thanks Judy for the kind words. You always seem to know how to lift me up. You are such a great friend and a wonderful support person to me. I thank OH for bringing you into my life!!

Much love and many hugs....connie d

    Hello All,

I am getting revved up as I slowly get thru the pre-op consults. Yesterday I saw the cardiologist who wants a stress test and echocardiogram. Both are scheduled within the week. I see the pulmonologist in 2 weeks and then I am cleared hopefully, fingers soooo crossed.

I am in my weekly finance meeting and have to go.

Best wishes to all of you.

    Good Morning Everyone,

Trish, I am so happy that your healing is coming along. After I had the lower body lift in 2007 I had one area that I thought was scabbed over and heaing well. When I went to the doctor I found that it wasn't healing from the "inside out". So they had to "make it bigger to make it better". I ended up with a silver dollar size hole in my left side about an inch deep. It had to be packed with some kind of seaweed guaze that drew out the yucky stuff. It took literally MONTHS to completely heal from the inside out but it did. I have a pretty good scar there but I am not bikini material so that is okay,

We spent last night with our son and will leave this morning and head to our daughter's in Chehalis 90 miles south of Seattle. I think since it looks like it will be a beautiful clear morning we will stop at the state capitol in Olympia and walk the grounds and go inside. We were both born and raised in eastern WA but have never taken the time to do this. Kind of like living at the shore on either coast and not walking on the beach! It gets taken for granted.

We are treated to wonderful views of Mt. Rainier every time we go over White Pass to our daughter's, but you have to go a little out of your way to tour the capital grounds.

Then we will get to Erin's in time to take the grand-daughters out for dinner and if nice enough a stop at the park. Tomorrow morning about 5:30am Mike, Erin, and I will head to Seattle to spend a week on Kauai. Just saw the new George Clooney movie which was partially filmed there. Even the airport!

I've packed snacks, MP3 player, laptop all to carryon. May be interesting trying to contain that within our "limits" of one carryon ad one personal item!

Weather was clear, sunny, and about 60 degrees when we arrived in Seattle yesterday. Seatlle at it's best can't be beat, but all too often it is cloudy and pouring rain. Guess that is why it is so green. Yesterday one could see  the Olympic Mountains to the west, the Cascade Mountains to the east, and Puget Sound was a sparkling blue. Stunning!

I'm going to make us a bit of breakfast before we head out this morning. My son has already left for his teaching job. Kristin is home from graduate school today. Ellie, the now almost 4 month puppy, has learned so much. She's the "star" of puppy training class. She's grown so much that her raincoat I made for her is way too short for her. I'll make a new pattern and try again. I had extra upholstery vinyl from my bar stool project and I'll make her another. It was so cute too! Lined with a flower print and on the back I put a little pocked for plastic "poop" bag.

Sending healing vibes to thos who need them, and good wishes to everyone.

    Karen C

I started a Tuesday because I didn't see this one..AGAIN...I swear it was not on there until I posted....so I deleted it....

I am a little ovrscheduled today, but what else is new. I have a doctor's appointment at 10:45 with my Chiropractor/Wellnss doctor...Keeps this old body in working order...and gives me tips like using Coconut Oil for mental alertness....

I have a huge Company meeting all afternoon at a Holiday Inn with ****tails and appeys afterwards...so no dinner tonight. I was supposed to go out to The Chop House with a bunch of gals that I graduated from high school with....uhhh yep over 50 years ago and we still get together every month for dinner....but won't make that I am sure.

Take care hope your day is great.

Good morning Trish and my OFF sistas!

Another busy morning for me.  Juan is here AGAIN today!  I'm glad he's available to work, and I'm glad he and DH are getting so much done, but now I have to cook another big noonday meal!  I think I will made beef stew today.

Also hoping to hear from our Realtor today and maybe have a meeting this afternoon with him.

Day Three of gluten free.  I think I am already feeling the difference.  Tried a new recipe yesterday afternoon for Cinnamon Swirl Bread.  Pretty good.  I'll post the recipe here if I get time today.  I used Splenda for Baking and Bob's Red Mill GR Baking Mix.  I guess hubby liked it.  He ate 2 pieces!

Just found out that another cousin of mine has cancer and is only given 6 months to live.  So many of our family are overweight, obese, or super obese, and so many of us get cancer and die!  I tell you all, I am not going down without a fight.  I am going to whup the tar out of this obesity thing, if it's the last thing I do.  I plan to live a long time, and I'm not going to do it all crippled up and sick.  What I don't understand is why various members of my family are so critical of me for having WLS.  Lord knows, they all need to do something proactive to protect their health, too.  Can't they see the correlation?  I just don't get it.

Well, I've got to run and start my stew meat to cooking.

    Love you ALL!

P.S.  Just have to add that I weighed this morning and I'm down a pound!  Haven't lost so much as an OUNCE since right after Thanksgiving, and now, 3 days of gluten free and a pound dropped off!  Woo hoo!

    Good mornin' ya'll,.
I've been in OR since Saturday afternoon. We had a great Super Bowl party. LOTS of food!! Lots of people. Sent all leftovers home with them. Our daughter is back in Medford. Her 5 stores are taking longer to whip into shape than they planned. They are also short handed. So her, and her DO, and an area coach and the president of the co, are all there. One in each of the stores. Training employees and working the line. 16 - 18 hour days.
My granddaughter woke up with a fever this morning, so she is home and will miss her field trip today and tonight's basketball game. The good news, she won't miss any homework. She's the one who had mono last summer and she will run a fever randomly for 24 hours or so, tylenol and lots of rest and she is OK.
Yesterday after school, I brought her home and we switched to her Dad's car, and I let her drive to a shopping area, not much traffic in that area. We traded and I drove her to a Subway, she went in to get her sandwhich, I waited in the car with it running. When she came out, I put the car in reverse, backed up about 10 feet and the car died. Everytime I started it, it died when I put it in gear, or if I idled too long! Some very nice man pushed us out of the way. Called my daughter. Called AAA, they came and got the car and brought it and us back home. Thank heaven for AAA! Switched back to daughter's car and off to basketball practice. Her Mom's car is a company car, so the kids can't drive it. Our daughter moved her money tree out of the dining room for the Super Bowl party. She told me to move it back. Sometimes she is very superstitious. Moving the tree might have caused the car trouble that will probably be expensive!!
Sooooooo, today is a jammie day for my granddaughter and I. I am following a diet my daughter is on. It is working very well. I have learned that green tea can be very good with Truvia in it. I am drinking a lot of that between meals.
    Everyone have a fantabulous day!
