Good Morning OFF Family,
Well, my night was a bust.  My MRI had to be rescheduled because they were behind schedule by one hour, and I was not prepared to sit and wait for an hour and fifteen minutes, given I got there early.  Then, my Phillies lost their game against the Cubs.

Saturday has me getting to an AA meeting and then head to my therapist's.  I have not seen him since March, and need to talk to him.  Not sure what the rest of the day holds.

Sorry to hear about your MRI and the Cubs.  Glad to hear you're keeping up with AA.  My son goes to at least 3 NA meetings a week.  It has kept him clean and sober for 12 years,thank God.

Well, if my health tracker updated correctly, you can see that my scale is conspiring against me and I have GAINED weight.  So now instead of being 5 lbs from goal, I am 10 lbs. from goal.  First setback in almost 3 years.  Have to eat only proteins and cut out all carbs for at least a week, then add only non starchy veggies and low glycemic index fruits. 

I'M DONE WITH PROCESSED CARBS.

Congrats to your son for twelve years clean.  That is awesome.  I have been in AA for over 22 years, but only have a little more than two years sober.  I relapsed one year post-op, and it took two years and outpatient and inpatient treatment for me to realize I had not worked all 12 Steps of the AA program.  It works if you work it.  Plus, I learned that it is true that you get drunk faster after RNY.  

My son had a bad heroin addiction, which had him in treatment three times.  He stopped the heroin, but has gone back to drinking and pot.  We've talked about it, but at 29, he does what he does, and I supposedly have no clue.  I do know that I was the first one he called when he ended up in rehab the last time.  I understand addictions more than anyone else in the family, being in recovery.  I just have to keep praying for him.

Maria--I have a good friend from my Weigh****cher days who once told me, "Carbs are the work of the devil!"  I have to agree.  I think of that saying often these days.  Good luck with conquering your regain.  You can DO IT!

Morning Trish and OFF family...

Well it is another cold morning here 40* and threat to see snow mixed in with the rain today!! YUCK!!!!!

Got our pay checks through FED X late yesterday afternoon. NOPE no bonus in it...AGAIN! Still waiting for it. Hope my boss is back to work monday. If she isn't, hopefully one of the owners will be in and I will talk to him and see whats going on! After being told after the first 30 days I get a bonus...still NOTHING...its not a happy thing!!! Depressing to say the least!! I have every apartment filled and all I have so far is GOOD JOB!!! Where is the extra money??????? Sorry to vent just need to get it out I guess. I know I will get it but my boss has been out sick...VERY sick.

Well not much planned for today. VFW for bar bingo tonight. Love going to play that. :-) Gets me away from here for a couple hours!

Rick made me breakfast in bed this morning...awww that was so nice of him!!! Need coffee though and none here...all over in the office...grrrr NOT going over there to get it!!! LOL So I will suffer I guess unless I can sweet talk him into going over for it...LOL

PS Forgot to mention this...went to the nasty bank here and took out all but $8.73!! When I handed her the withdrawl slip she asked me "is this a withdrawl?" I looked all around and said "I guess so because I sure don't see any money there for a deposit!" DUH!!!!!!!!! SOOOOOOOOOOOO glad that I am leaving this bank come May 10th!!!!!!!!! Now how stupid can they be??? That was a withdrawl slip and it was made out for withdrawl....OMG!!!!!!!!! I left there LMAO!!!!!! IDIOTS!

Thanks Trish!! From what I heard thru the grapevine she either died or almost died...and was brought back...took some medication that did NOT agree with her and caused all this!!! Yeah I worked my butt off getting all 11 apartments filled and all and now the waiting game for the bonus...Rick is also waiting for his for getting them ready!

Trish and Maria, it sounds like you girls and your families have been through a lot with addictions. Both yours and family members. I hope your families gain the same success you have.
My family doesn't do addiction ( unless you count food). We are all about suicide. My brother, a couple of uncles, a couple of cousins, and my Sis tried, but I called her boyfriend after a long distance phone call with her. Thank God I called her when I did and that her boyfriend and the paramedics got there in time to pump her stomach.
Enough!!
Yesterday I did a turn around to SC to pick up our grandson. Left at 7 AM, got home at 3:30. That was with a stop for gas and lunch. This morning he comes out of the bedroom at 9 AM wanting to know if I have any socks! Nope! Mine are all those little sneaker socks, my DH's all have the elastic cut out of the tops because he is diabetic. Asked him why he was up so early. He said he was going golfing with his cousin in 10 minutes! OK, yesterday he comes with a back pack and a duffle bag that look so heavy it should take three guys to carry them. BUT, he has no socks, no shorts and no shirts. I wonder if he brought a change of unders! What in God's name has he got in there? Anyway, he is off to play golf in his cousin's clothes!! First I had to sew a button on the shorts his cousin lent him! I know he brought his computer and his fancy speakers he bought last time he was here. Oh, and his protein drink powder. And apparently just the clothes on his back!
Well, I am off to my sewing/craft/spare room to make more doll clothes! I like to be uninterrupted when I am in there. My DH is VERY careful about that (he doesn't like my grumbling, eye rolling, stomping around attitude when I am working on a delicate project) of course I don't do that with my son or grandkids, but still......So I gave the boys each $20, hoping they eat somewhere before they come home.
Judy, I hope you get your bonus soon. It sounds like you have been working very hard and you deserve it!

  Sorry Trish I have to say I am glad the Cubs won!!!! I am a chicagoan!!!!! I lived there for five year and my Husband grew up there!!!!! We still owna house there!!!!  Hopefully we have sold it to the renter we have in it!!!!!

Nothing much going on here inmy part of the world....Working on a regain of 13 pounds!!!!! I think it is water weight.  my doc took my water pills away from me and I go****er weight Im going to go and see if she will give them back to me. 
maybe it is the kid food. I need to stay away from that too.

Carla--I can identify with the kid food!  I am cooking 3 times a day now for Benny.  It's really hard not to eat right along with him, especially the mac n cheese!  Love that stuff!

Judy--I'll bet you get your bonus when your boss gets back.  She's probably the only one to advocate for you.  It is frustrating, though, when a company doesn't do what it says it's going to do.

Trish--I hope you're able to get your MRI soon.

So, my morning is very happy because my oldest daughter, Carrie, is here for the weekend.  She and Benny are playing together in the toy room now.  Such happy sounds!  Plus I have an extra pair of hands to help with the baby today.  I think I might even get a SHOWER this morning!  LOL!

Not sure what we're going to do today.  We're thinking about taking Benny to a waterfront park down the road and going wading in the lake today.  It's warm enough in the afternoons, but the water in Canyon Lake is VERY COLD spring-fed water.  Too cold for real swimming this early, but maybe fun to splash along the shoreline.

I ate way too much breakfast and feel a little sicky to my tummy right now.  I shouldn't have given in and had that biscuit!  But they just looked and smelled so good.  I think biscuits must be like cake or cookies, from the way my tummy is feeling. 

Well, off to take a shower and then play all day.  Love you all!

Nothing much going on here. Trying to get out of my financial mess. And it is a mess. But I will prevail eventually. I may be eating tuna casserole for awhile, though.

Sorry about your Phillies ... my White Sox got thumped again last night ... not happy.

Anyway, got to get into the shower and have some lunch. Have plenty of salsa chicken yet. Have a good day.

 Was down to Sturgis for the last week cleaning out the house and getting ready to have the movers come in and take the furniture and boxes.   Still have all the closets, basement and garage to go through, probably week after next.   meantime, the step son is here today packing up the two extra bedrooms that we are replacing the furniture in.....I'm exhausted.  

Lost almost five lbs while in Sturgis -- worked my butt off -  no one offered to help so it was just Bobby and I, and he was suffering with bad sciatic pain.  But we got it done - thank God.


Was hoping to relax today, but that got changed -- maybe tomorrow

Good evening OFF family, just bringing up the rear once again. But I gotta say I love working the 3-11 shift, just miss actually posting like I used to but oh well, I'm just chugging along!

We had a nice storm go through Shelbyville this morning and one of our trees lost a huge limb. I thought when I heard that loud cracking sound a car got into an accident. Looked out in the road and nothing then later on saw the huge limb lying next to the barn. Well hubby will have to cut it up for firewood when he gets back from Kentucky.

It's cold and rainy outside and summer is just around the corner. Yesterday was my day off and I went to my girlfriends mom's funeral. Her mom was her best friend too. She was having a real hard time. The only thing I could think of was that her mom was at peace and in no pain. I know she's partying up in heaven and back with her hubby and sisters. I'm gonna have to check on her often this week and make sure she is doing okay. Times like this I sure do miss my mom too. Memories...makes me smile and remember the good times!

Nunni...good for you working on getting those extra pounds off now. Damn Carbs! Also drinking lots of water will help too. If you are mindlessly eating, check the time of day you start grazing/eating/comfort eating/boredom eating. Sometimes just jotting down your feelings at that specific time helps.

Before hubby left for Kentucky he made homemade chocolate chip cookies with nuts. Oh hell no...told him to take all of them to Kentucky but no...he left about a dozen of them for me so I brought them into work today and got rid of them. Damn Cookies! Cookies and chips are my downfall and I detox my house of them every time we have crap like that in my house. I send them home with the grand kids. LOL
