    Topic: RE: INCREDIBLE DISSAPPOINTMENT!!!!
That has to be so disapointing. Yes, you'll have to heal from this surgery before they can do the next one. Better safe than sorry, but it is really hard to take. It will happen and it will be a lot safer than if they had gone a head and did the whole thing.  Take good care of yourself so you will heal well and fast. Diana

That's good. Now you have me thinking Twinkles. My kids play violin and The twinkles in 5 variations is there first piece. Baa Baa Black sheep is the same also. I have heard these songs at nauseum. I can even still play all variations on a 1/8 size violin. I'd rather listen to someting else.  thanks , Diana

Topic: RE: SOY CHIPS THAT CRUNCH/HIGH PROTEIN/NO WHEAT/NO FAT
We don't have a Frys here. We shop mostly at the air Base in Mt home. that is where we get most of our meds (free).  We do have plenty of health food stores and most grocery stores have a health food section. I should be able to find them. Thanks Diana

I'll be looking for it. A nut crust would put me in heaven. I loved that movie. I don't get to see many movies cause I work so much. But that one I couldn't resist.   I laughed and coughed and had to keep running to the potty. Diana
    Topic: RE: Thursday's goals
This is a typical day for me. It used to be worse when I worked in Lab and did the design, and Layed tile and made solid surface counter tops, Oh and I was homeshcooling 1 child at thte time. the others had graduated. I am a workaholic and am ADHD as are all my children. Life was somthing when my kids were younger. They are great now. I have at least 1 ADHD grandchhild. It is a genetic thing.  I never get it all done because more just keeps coming in. I am turning down work. I just can't do it all. I guess I am good at what I do.   I need to charge more course. I'm sure not making much money. At least I don't have to do the yard work anymore. My DH is retired so he does it now along with the cooking and laundry. He even does the canning. Yes, we do a lot of canning. Love the home grown and all natural stuff. He keep our kids in string beans, tomatoes, Applesauce and peaches.   Such is life.  Diana
    Topic: RE: Thursday's goals
My goals for today are to finish 2 floor plans and have them ready to blueprint in the morning.   Start another floor plan. it's been 3 weeks since I met with them. Hoping to hear back from at least 3 people so I can get their plans finalized so I can start on the exterior. Get my Military ID renewed. It expired in June.  Water my orchids. sip on my  64oz water (need to practice) Take a bike ride this PM Will I get that all done. NO!!!!!. but I can try. You can see why I work till 2:00 AM. And why my new addiction (this board) is not helping (well actually it is. I need all the help and support I can get. This has been the best for me. I just have to control it.) Diana

Great going. I also see that you are now below the 35 BMI.  Big wow on both. Diana
    Topic: RE: What We're Eating
You don't want to know what I'm eating today, I can't lose any weight or I will drop below the required BMI and I don't want that to happen and have to fight. I have enough comorbidities however.  I do love black beans and cheese. I can live on them. It's just getting my husband to cook them. ( I have the dry beans and he's afraid of cooking them. silly guy) I'm so glad beans are on the good list.  I love Dim sum also. Diana
    Topic: RE: BUTCH THE ROOSTER

Topic: RE: Who's Yer Daddy?...er, I mean Cell Phone Carrier..
We have Verizon. Verizon to Verizon is free, nights and weekends free. We are  really pleased with it. We have to travel a lot through long distances of nothing but high mountain desert and Mountains. We have never been out of coverage. That is why we went with Verizon. The only time we may not have coverage is when we are in the back country and primative areas. (Sawtooth Mountains) they have coverage in Sun Valley and I believe the Stanley Basin. That is important for us. There is a lot of area from Idaho to Southern Utah that is very sparsely populated or not at all. But we still have to drive though there. WE used to have AT&T, no service through all of central and southern Utah. Our son had Alltell. It was fine on the eastern sea board, but not here. He has changed to Verizon. When we upped our minutes last fall when DH was in the hospital in Ogden, They didn't start a new contract. We can change or leave any time we want. don't want to tho. Diana
Topic: RE: Hello from Lucia ~~home from the unexpected hospital stay !!ugh
Hi, I know all about diverticulitis. My husband about died from a perferated bowel last Nov from his diverticulitis. Cipro and Flagyl are the treatment.  His perforated at 2:30 AM while we were in Ogden, Utah visiting our family. He had surgery. They took a bunch of bowel out and he had to have a colostomy bag. He was able to  go back in Feb 28 and have the colostomy taken down. ( no more bag). He has done very well. You have to be careful with it. If it perforates you don't have long before there is nothing they can do for you.  Now, have I scared you. I don't really mean to. I just want you to be very aware of it so you get treatment quickly.  They removed more of his colon with the second surgery. He has about half of it left and he is actually normal now. Although he is never constipated. Don't let them take out the whole colon. It is usually the lower part that is the problem. My DH had it as bad as it gets. If they take out the whole colon you will be left with an ileostomy. Which means a bag for life. That is better than death, put it is not really fun. You might want to have them remove the bad portion of your colon when it isn't imflamed.  My DH had all the diverticuli removed. He should never have a problem with it again.  It can flare up at any time. One attack will most likely not be the last. DH followed all the rules and still kept getting it until the rupture. He knew it was different when it ruptured and so did I. The pain was far worse than a regular attack. Lots of people die from this. They figure that my DH only had about 4 hours and they couldn't have saved him.  They can do xrays to determine where the diverticlui are. They can also see them on a colonoscopy. The flagyl is not a nice med. You can get a nasty taste in your mouth and you can feel sick from it. I have been on it several times.  Be very careful with this. It is your life. I hope you get feeling better really soon. I really feel for you. I have watched my DH go through it many times. Take good care of yourself. Diana
Topic: RE: Has anyone had problems getting life insurance?
I have been uninsureable since the early 1990's. Surgery had nothing to do with it. I am just starting my process now. It wasn't just expensive, I am completely denied. I'll probably live to be 100 just to show them. Diana
Topic: RE: I guess i'm going to have to admit that I'm over 50
