Silicon Gel Strips for scars????

Has anyone heard of this? My plastic surgeon mentioned he's going to give me silicon gel strips to help prevent scarring for my LBL/Bracioplast. Has anyone used these? Do they work? How long did you have to wear them and when did you start?

My surgeon uses these.. not sure how long they stay on tho, hes a big advocate of it!

I have to ask.. were you 138 before yuor plastics?  How much did they remove Steph???

Morning!

I was 142.5 when I went to the hospital that morning. My doc doesn't beleive in telling patients how much he's removed. He was very specific in telling me that it wasn't going to be muc as I have hardly any body fat..it was all skin. This morning I weighed in at 137. I'm so excited to see the scale moving again after almost a year of 139-142. So EXCITING!!!

 

Wow that is incredible... I hope to be in the 130's after mine but afraid to change sizes too drastically too.... what a mind game it can be.. excited and fearful at the same time.  Who woulda thought I would be fearful of getting too skinny!! Never in my wildest dreams!  Congrats on your success so far, hopefully each day is getting better with the recovery and pain.

I used them &  I loved them, put them on for about 1 week or so and tgey did great

I used the silicon stips on my arms.  I started using them after all the scabing went away, once Dr. Mariotti said the incisions were completely closed.  I wore them for several weeks and my arms look great now.  From just a few feet away you can't even see my scars.  I have very fair skin and it takes my scars a long time to fade but they faded completely.  Dr. Mariotti was even surprised at how well they look now.

I used them after my breast reduction/lift and it did wonders for the incisions.  They prevent the scar from raising, makes for a nice smooth incision line.

Where do you get the silicone strips??

My doctor said he was going to give them to me...just not sure when. I'm so happy to hear about these results.Thanks!!
