Got to see the doc today and got good news. My ferritin is up from 4 to 137. Hemoglobin is up from 8.9 to 10.3 (and he said it will continue to rise now that I have stores), and my hematocrit is 33 up from 27.3.

I can definitely tell something is happening. I've cleaned things I haven't even looked at in months! Decluttering, cooking like I used to (tonight was chicken marsala, garlic mashed potatoes, and creamed spinach!), and not wanting to sleep all day.

He said he feels my numbers are good enough to go into my revision surgery without an issue. He'll see me back in 3 months then again 3 months after that to check for the trend in my iron. He said I should not even bother to supplement with oral iron at least until we see how my body naturally handles the iron situation.

Thanks for reading!

Denise

fabulous news!!  I bet you feel so much better...it is amazing that you were able do as much as you did with those low numbers.  SO happy to hear this....  (chicken marsala is my all time favorite...if only you lived closer!)

I gotta think about the sex appeal question..I am going out and so I'll answer later...interesting question...never really thought about it!!

Great ferritin numbers!  Mine is 8.  I need to ask about an infusion.  I could surely use some energy for cleaning.  Yea for the revision!

Definitely ask about it. And if you don't get the answer you want, ask someone else. I was shocked at the number. I actually asked him twice what he said! I don't actually know what normal is--I should look that up again.

Now if my stupid back didn't bother me I'd be a machine!!

Let us know what they say!

I don't think I really realized how depleted I was. Thought it was just being beat from the surgery or depression or something along those lines. Much easier to be hopeful and positive when you see a light at the end of the tunnel instead of a big ass train barreling toward you!!

Thanks Lee!

Denise, the surgery can be so debilitating, without complications.  With complications, I can only imagine how tough it is.  I'm one that blames myself if I'm sick.  Old childhood crap about not being allowed to be sick.   I bet it would be really easy to get depressed about such a lack of energy.  I'm glad that this has turned around for you.

I swear I want to form a co-op among my friends where we take turns each week and knock out the cleaning for each other. I have two friends that take turns each week providing a meal for the other family. It's a nice little break for them and they utilize it on nights they have activities with the kids and otherwise would have trouble getting a hot meal on the table.

Sounds good to me!

Denise,
Glad to hear you're feeling better and your numbers are up! What a huge difference! My D levels are always so terrible...they were before surgery, too. I'm praying for an early Spring when I can Kayak and get some natural D going!

Numbers much improved, glad to see you feel better too and healthy enough to have your revisions done now. If you have all that time and energy for cooking surely you can get a part-time job to reduce your dependence on outside, illegal, immoral, unwarranted financial sources thus giving you a greater feeling satisfaction of not depleting someone's retirement fund.

Thanks,

Bubbzz

Thanks! I do feel a lot better. Still sleepy in the morning--not sure what that is about. For some reason I have very low blood pressure--95/52! Says it can be a function of anemia, bradycardia, and dehydration, all of which I have. I wish my outside financial support was a little more reliable!! A girl could starve at this rate! Job? Surely you jest!! Yes, and don't call me Shirley!!

Thank you!

Low blood pressure just means nothing exciting is happening at the moment. Anemia sounds like a really horrible wine nobody wants to buy from former Soviet Republic. Bradycardia sounds like a made up disease why the Pats didn't win the Stupidbowl. Dehydrations? you should call Water boy he'll fix you up. Outside financial support is a little unrealiable as 3 horses have come up lame now trying to deliver your check by this weekend via Shetlin Pony Express, you should feel bad. Starve you say having lost 150 pounds you have burned 525,000 calories I would say you have already starved at some rate, but the way you are cooking lately you apparently have been successful at counteracting these dreadful side affects A+. JOB yes, jest NO, court jester To Be Determined. NO I was going for SHURLEE.

Thank you,

Bradycardia-HAHAHA!! Since you can't seem to get me my checks, would you mind getting waterboy on the horn--that's the least you could do! Better to work the ponies rather than eat like one!! I love your little math calculations! How many times did my heart beat in the last 3 years using an average of my bradycardic heartrate of 52 beats per minute? Need better job: Yes. Jest: Surely. Jester: Without question.

You're welcome!

Go buy yourself some Hatorade waterboy is busy counting his millions. Poor ponies you should feel horrible ponies never did anythning to you except try and get you your stupid little checks on time. Ok your little heart beat 81,768,960 times in the last 3 years should be correct as the last 3 years have not been leap years. Get a job: YES. Jest: why not. Jester: I make a better one than you as I am the true goofball.

Muchas Gracias,

Bubbinski
