Considering a breast lift without implants need input

I've noticed since my tt that my breasts look worse. Before they sat higher as there was all that fat holding them up. Now I see how droopy they really are. I can't believe it but I'm considering a breast lift. I don't want implants because I have multiple rare, benign tumors & I am not comfortable with putting something foreign in my body. I'm also 53 & want this to be my last ps.

Could anyone who had only a bl tell me how their recovery was?

What are the limitations after a bl?

I'm wearing a D cup, but one breast is more like a C. Should I expect to go down in size?

Are you happy just having a bl?
Cindy

I am thrilled with my BL.  I am 61 and did not want implants if I could look great without them.  Dr. Sauceda and I spent an hour looking at pictures together so that I could show him what I thought would be acceptable for me.  He promised to make them beautiful and he delivered.

I thought that I would be smaller after the lift but I wasn't.  I went in a 34DD and was recently measured at Victoias Secret at 32/34 DD.  I'm very happy with the results.

As far as recovery, it's hard to tell because I had so many procedures at once.  The incisions under my breast hurt for a long time and were slow to heal.  I had a lot of incisions everywhere so my body was working hard to recover.  I started sleeping on my tummy at three months post op.  I still wear a sport bra to sleep for protection.  Running is still not the best, but it never was.  The sensitivity in my right breast came back quickly, the left is catching up.

Hope this helps!

Lee, I was wondering how you came to terms with going to mexico for your PS? How did you make your decision and make peace with it? Did you have reservations or concerns about complications afterward and dealing with follow-up care back home and any problems in that regard? I am really struggling. Intellectually I know that I could have problems with PS in the states and I know that there are many people who have had great success with Dr Saucada. PS is elective and although I can survive just fine without it, I want to finish this journey and feel whole and complete and not like a wrinkley mess.

Also, can you tell me how much you spent with Dr. Saucada?

Thank you,
Lia

 Hi Lia,

I felt much safer going to Mexico than I would have if I had stayed home.  First, kaiser wanted four surgeries with four recovery periods.  I wanted to get it done at one time.  I read all of the posts on Dr. Saucedas group here on OH and also know two women here in town that also went to him and had a great experience.

I was afraid of major surgery and going home the next day.  I stayed in a clinic for five nights with constant nursing care,  after that I moved to a hotel for seven nights.  Dr. S came to see me daily.  His great nurse came to bathe me and change my dressings daily.  I knew that any problem would be immediately addressed.  I figured that I would go to Kaiser if I had any complications when I got home.  I did end up going home with two drains that I removed myself.  I had sutures that needed removed when I got home. For those I had a doctor/friend come over and help me.

I think it was a great experience.  I live in a big city. I'm used to reading about crime so thinking about Mexico was no different.  I felt totally safe walking during te day.  The friend that went with me walked from the hotel to the clinic daily but limited it to when it was light out.  She's now waiting to go back for her own surgery.

after the flight, hotel, surgical and hospital fees, how much do you believed you saved compared to an american hospital?

thank you

I am not Lee, but I went to Dr S in Mexico too and in 2009 - I saved over 10k last May I returned for more work and saved over 25k. My quotes here in Denver were also for outpatient only. In Mexico, I was in the clinic for a week and at the hotel for 10 days with daily visits from Dr S and his RN. I still paid one third the price! I am returning in January for my BL and UBL and the second stage of my thigh work! I love Dr Saucedo! He truly is an artist!

Yes, what Dee said!  I hate that we are not getting notifications anymore when someone responds to us.

Dr. Sauceda was 1/3 of what Kaiser quoted and it was 1 recovery, not 4.

I had a two stage surgery with a BL and LBL in the first step. 3 months later, I went back for stage 2 and added implants.

My surgeon used the LeJour method for the BL. I experienced no real pain with the breast lift, just some tenderness. I think the recovery was very easy for this but then I am comparing it to the LBL and other surgeries. For the first couple of weeks, it was uncomfortable to lift my arms above shoulder height as it moved the breast tissue. Front closure sports bras and button shirts were my friends.

I was extremely saggy and deflated after having been quite large. My pre-op bra cup was a 36D which basically just helped compress all that loose tissue. Post-op I was a 36C. The nipples were repositioned and made smaller - which initally took some getting used to when I looked in the mirror. After 2.5 months, I had adjusted to the new look and was very happy with my new size and position. I had no upper pole fullness and had a ski slope type shape on the top of the breast but found that a push up bra worked wonders.

I probably wouldn't have undergone a second surgery to add the implants if I could do it all again. I had already scheduled my stage two surgery before stage one and had a signifigant financial investment in it. I needed a revision on one of the breasts from the BL so I figured that I might as well get the implants since I was under the anasthesia and there was already work being done in the area.

There are pictures in my profile if you want to see the difference a BL can make on super saggy breasts.

I had a breast lift only.  The dr. kept and used as much of my own tissue as possible to add some shape to my breasts.  I think I only had 2oz of skin removed on each breast - the rest was tucked and folded inside.

I had one surgeon tell me I'd have nipples on a flat chest like a man with no implants.  I certainly don't have that.  My breasts are small (34C) and round.  My nipples are back where they should be.  I love my new boobs and I'm glad to have them with no implants!!

The healing was very easy.  Very little pain with the incisions and I wasn't limited much with movement etc.  I still have some loss of sensation in my nipples but it is coming back (9months out).

Erica, just wondering... you are a 34 C now, what were your before surgery.  I'm having a lot of trouble deciding whether implants are worth it....thanks

I was a 34C before surgery as well.  They were oragamied in there though.  Now they fit just nicely and full in a C cup.

I am super excited to read this because my surgeon has said that he wants to use my back fat to add volumn to my breasts. I have never even heard of this. So it can be done huh!!! Thanks for sharing.

Breast lift- Spring 2013

Yup.  He was supposed to take more off - but when he got in there, he said he figured out how to bend and fold it all into place.

At first I thought I could feel the lumps and folds under there - and was a bit worried.  But it's all calmed down and shaped itself properly now...

Kim, so are you saying that you had the implants added later in a separate surgery?
I also did not want implants because of my age (47), but I knew that if I didn't have the implants, I would not have any fullness on the top.  I have to say that I am in love with my breasts - LOL - I even wish I would have gone a bit bigger.   I can't even tell that they are in there - which was one of my biggest worries!

I do understand not wanting implants due to the issues with your breasts  - and I have heard some great success stories without implants (Lee).

Good luck in your journey!

Allison

Lee, I'm happy to hear you're happy with your bl. You're probably correct that your body was on recovery overdrive.

Raven300, I'm recovering now from an arm lift so I'm quite familiar with the limitations in range of motion. I definitely will not want my nipples made too small, nor would my husband. I wear underwire push up bras now & I wouldn't mind wearing them afterwards.

ericaFG, thank you for describing how your lift was done. I have a large frame & as such can ill afford to be significantly smaller. I'm glad to hear your recovery was easy. I have found my tt relatively easy so I think this may be the same.
Cindy

Thanks Allison, I am going to continue my research & speak to my doctor at my next appt.
Cindy

I had only a lift. My breast have the ski slope look like Raven mentioned. Push up bras help, but I hope to get implants as soon as I can afford them to give myself fullness on top. My recovery from the breast lift was easy. No problems whatsoever. I am thankful for the breast lift and would do it again in a heartbeat, even if I never get implants.
