I had surgery April 2013 and lost about 100 lbs in eight months.  I have been maintaining around 130 lbs for a year and I am scheduled to have a lower body lift, breast lift/augmentation and arms done on Thursday.

I just had my plastics ( Fleur de lis lower body lift) on December 3rd.

So, 22 months out from my VSG. 160lbs lost.

13 lbs of excess skin and fat were removed. :)

How exciting.  Any advice? I am also having the fleur de lis, how bad is it?   I'd love to see pics if you are comfortable sharing.

I had my LBL at 18 months post VSG and BL and thighs two months after that. I was not at "goal" yet but with scheduling and work and family obligations this is how it worked best for me. I am at goal now and the results of the plastics are great. Much improved overall look!

I'm like 20 months out for my tummy tuck - was definitely at a plateau for 6 months - and not at goal.  So excited that the surgeon took off 7 lbs of skin/fat around my middle!  Whoo hoo!  But was up 10 pounds when I got home from the hospital - just slowly going down!

I'm planning on waiting until I've been at goal for at least a year and hopefully I can wait until I've been at goal for two years.

Gwen, why wait that long? My GP actually hurried me on to plastics. He said he read some article that said that those who do plastics soon after WLS have less regain than those who don't. Its like there are many things that I don't want to mess up now. The weight loss, the being healthy, and the plastics!

Everything that I've read says that your skin will continue to change for up to 24 months and I've seen a number of post-op videos from people who haven't been able to get plastics right away and, after a few years, have found that they don't need as much as they thought they did originally.

So, I don't know, it seems like the best idea to give my skin and body the chance to adjust and do their thing before getting plastics.

Probably true at your age. At mine, the only place any of that loose skin was going would have been even further south!
