My consult with Dr. Michaels is Tuesday.  Sooooo excited and nervous!  I have a ton of questions for him, but the most important two are "how many surgeries" and "how much money."  :P

Yaaaay!!! Let us know how it goes! Mine is about 3 weeks away...and my first. I was really scared I wouldn't get the results I wanted without a fleur-de-lis but I recently posted pictures on realself and all of the surgeons who commented said it wouldn't be necessary - for what that's worth.

What are you looking to have done? Is there a priority list you're working with? I'm looking for a TT/LBL and lift/augmentation. I am really, really hoping both can be done at once.

Exciting!  And your weight loss is so impressive.  But seeing it reinforces my fear that I'm not actually ready for plastics and I'm just fooling myself.  Argh.  I guess that is really my most important question for the surgeon - am I ready for plastics or should I lose more weight.  I'm planning on starting surgery in June and I'm hoping to be

I just had a Full abdominalplasty, breast lift and augmentation 4 weeks ago. I, like you was worried about my results given I did not want the fleur di lis. Funny thing was, my surgeon did not recommend one anyway.  I lost 152lbs and carried a lot of my weight around the middle so I had a lot of loose skin.

My results are phenomenal! My tummy is nice and tight and perfectly flat. I could not pinch an in on the front if I wanted to. In fact, you could probably bounce a quarter off my tummy. I also have a shape/waist which i was also worried about. I will say that the vertical incision would have tightened the sides up a little more but for me it was not necessary and I did not want the additional scar.

on the bummer side, none of my pants fit. I lost my butt so my tummy rolls used to hold up my pants, now they are saggy in the butt and the tummy yet the waistbands fit great. I do still have some swelling so that could change and I might have to drop a size. Or, I will have to buy some cute belts. I don't think I have worn a belt since I was 19 or 20.

incidentally, I am still recovering however my tummy was a piece of cake compared to my breasts. Usually that is reversed. Don't get me wrong, my tummy still has some discomfort but compared to my breasts it is nothing.

best of luck on your plastics! They are so worth it! I also had a arm lift in July so I am nearly done.

there are at least a couple other active and long-term OH members who have gone with him and *loved* him.  In fact, he's on my short list....

He will tell you if you are the right size for the surgery(ies) you want.

Even if you love him, still get a second consult, even if all it shows you is how much you want dr michaels to operate on you.  Few things in life are perfect, and it is better to see someone else before surgery rather than wish you had after surgery.  I saw 3 body plastic docs and I am glad that I saw all three and I am glad that I went with Dr. Michaels.

Before I went, I studied photos of myself without my head so I could see objectively what my new body needed most.  For me, it was breast asymmetry that needed correction(including lipo at my saddlebags to harvest the fat for the breast aug), so he did that and the armlift because they bothered me.

Write down any questions so you don't forget to ask them.  If you are having breast work done, be prepared to discuss what size you want to be afterwards and he will tell you if that is doable and what your options are.

Good Luck!!  If you are taking METRO, you don't have to go all the way out to the Rockville station, you get off 1 or 2 stations closer and can walk, although I took a cab there and walked from the office back to the train station.  The office can give you the exact instructions.

Thanks for the advice!  I am planning on having a breast lift, but I'm not interested in implants at all.  So we'll see.  My boobs are more like "slightly unfilled water balloons" than "tube socks."  If that makes sense ;)

I'll be driving.  Taking the metro would make me late since I'll be rushing up to get to my appointment on time after class.  I have a notebook with tons of questions and space for writing down the answers.  Woo!

good luck today!  I'll be interested to see what he says for you.

I had a consult with Dr. Katzen when I was at the OH conference and I'd like to start thinking about surgery.  I think that I was going to try to start looking now for surgery in 2018, but with the way the finances are going I might pu**** back to 2019.

If you want it sooner, keep that in mind when you go shopping (do I really need this or can I put the money in my plastic surgery fund?). Every little bit helps. Thankfully we all get to decide how we spend our own money.

I had to have plastic surgery for my mental health. I could not get past the skin. I scrimped and saved (and had the help from some fairygodmothers), but I did what it took to get it done as soon as I could. I also believe it is what keeps me at goal now. I am NOT going to mess this up!!
