I'm struggling hard. Pain management is serious business. I just think I overdid it a bit today, since I had to actually leave the house and go visit my PCP for a letter to be written.

I feel like the binder sits too high on my chest and compresses my ribs a bit. My surgeon has me in a girdle with a 4 inch towel under it and then the binder on top of it. I'm supposed to sit in the recliner, but even that is horrible on my tummy muscles. I saw his lines and he cut away all the way from above my belly button down to the middle of my pubis. So I'm very, very tight and can't even consider standing even halfway strait. I have a cane that I'm using when I walk around.

My drains sting like a mofo, and for some reason my shoulders ache like I'm filled with gas, just like after my RNY.

Okay, enough whining, it will all be worth it in the end, but damn, day one sucks!

Hang in there!! It took me 3 weeks to begin to feel better. I had my lbl/bl done during my summer break so I had 7 weeks to recover. I know some people bounce back quickly, but I needed all 7 of those weeks.

Day 6 is done and I'm feeling so much better. Pain is minimal, my follow up today with my surgeon went wonderfully, and I got my work release letter so I can go back on the 5th. I see my surgeon again on the 6th.

I've decided not share my before and after pics here on OH, but will happily share therm on Facebook. I'm amazed at the difference.

Send me a pm there and I'll share them.
