ok so besides the seroma, that the doctor wasnt able to get any fluid from aspriation. (and it seems like instead of having 2 little seroma locations (one on each side of my belly button) it just seems like it got bigger and longer. ...

the last few days ive been SEVERELY freezing. nothing i do can make me warm, except for hopping into super hot shower... chills constantly, or sweaty at times. somewhat short of breath...last night after going into basement to switch laundry, i came back upstairs and had to sit for a little bit, cuz my heart was racing and i was out of breath. no fever. took temp this morning. it was 97.2. i saw the PS last thursday for the seroma and had mentioned how ive been dizzy, (alot), and that ive also had diarrhea...he told me to just stop taking the antibiotic. ok, fine. but im still freezing..turned the heat up to like 75 degrees, got a sweater on, and covered up with a sherpa blanket, yet im still freezing :( im concerned about sepsis or some sort of infection perhaps. :( gonna call PS at 9 and see what he thinks. anyone else have these issues? i looked online and sepsis with tummy tuck is very rare apparently, however i did also have brachioplasty and both procesures had lipo. so, idk. I got ZERO sleep last night...either from sweating, itching, or just trying to find some sort of comfy position. my sides still hurt so im still forced to sleep on my back.

Just wanting to know if these things are normal, or something to be alarmed about.

Your symptoms are not normal. It does sound like an infection. Do you have any leg pains. SOB and rapid heart rate is concerning. Hopefully if you have not seen your PS today you have gon to ER.

Thanks for responding. No i dont have any leg pain. I called the PS office...my surgeon is in surgery today, so the nurse had spoken to the other surgeon at the office regarding my symptoms, and the nurse stated that they suggest i contact my primary doctor because being 19 days out, that my symptoms are not associated with the surgery. hmm. idk. guess ill see how i feel tomorrow.

I know Google is every doctor's worst nightmare and you should always rely on your doctor not the internet. Given that caveat, I googled "cold after surgery" and there are a ton of results of people with all kinds of surgery including plastic who are freezing for weeks after surgery. Some doctors said it could be a reaction to anesthesia. Another doctor said the body is directing all of its energy to healing rather than keeping you warm. So it might be normal. Only your doctor can safely say if it is for you!

I'm always cold but not like you describe and I've been this way forever. My PS told me to call immediately if I get short of breath (among other things). Hopefully you've sought medical attention just to rule things out (sepsis, infection, blood clots, pneumonia, etc)

Please keep us posted. Sending good vibes your way

Went to urgent care....dr there thinks it a noninfective gastroenteritis and colitis....aka stomach bug. she told me that if i continue to vomit to go to ER.

she wrote on my summary page "due to your recent surgery the one thing i can not rule out is a deeper infection from your surgery."

she took me out of work for the next 2 days. hoping im better by then.....
