I apologize in advance and ill try not to be too graphic but ever since i had RNY (5/11) my cycle (which i haven't had in over a year) showed up 2 days after surgery and lasted a week. after a break for a week its back again!? is this just because i have PCOS? has anyone else gone through this?

thanks in advance!

Yes it is normal! Any type of surgery can trigger women to menstruate, PCOS or not. I have PCOS, and when I had my RNY I had some spotting for a few days.  Don't worry.

I've had PCOS for years, any change in my weight or diet tends to trigger a period. I hadn't had a cycle in months and as soon as I cut sugar out of my diet, 2 days later I was doubled over with cramps and a super heavy flow.
